Anyone running a COOPER DISCOVERER AT3 LT in a 235/85? Thinking of grabbing a set to replace my Falken Wildpeaks in 265/75. I want them skinnies!

Just ordered five Cooper ST Maxx tires. Not cheap but looking forward to seeing how they perform. I know they are heavier than the Goodyear All-Terrain Adventure tires I've been running for years.

What wheels are you guys using with this tire size? I'm looking for a lightweight wheel and almost all of them are at least 8" wide

This thread is making me rethink my move up to 35" tall and really-wide when I need to swap out my 285/70/17. Thanks, boiz.

Look forward to hearing what you think of them compared to the Goodyears you've been running (which were a clever find BTW). I'm running the ST Maxx at the moment and have enjoyed them so far.

And actually just yesterday my brother put 235/80R17 ST Maxx on his Jeep replacing the P rated tires that were on there. Essentially same overall dimensions as the 235/85R16 but on a 17" hub.

I'm just running the stock TRD OR cast aluminum alloys which are 16x7 so a fine fit for the 235/85R16. I haven't weighed them myself but I believe they are around 25-27 lbs from online reports. I presume you are looking at forged aluminum wheels to cut the weight more?

I had stock TRD Tacoma wheels for years but now have 3rd gen 4Runner wheels.

Me too. The fact that you have them and have done so much with them helped me make my decision. I still need to get that T4R jack.

Yesssss!! So much so that I found a set and had 'em powder coated.

Gonna put 255s on these once the rest of my suspension arrives (235s I have on the truck now rub just a little on bumps with stock OR suspension and armor).

Second pic shows the fellow TW member's rig that inspired me to find them....

    The 235/85/16 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's (31.7") I ran on the Tacoma -

    The 255/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx's (32.8") I run on the 4Runner -

and side by side of the Falken's and Cooper's -

and last but not least, 255/85/16 Toyo Open Country M/T's (33.5") next to the Cooper's -

Thanks for that comparison - very helpful - more excited than ever to get my 255s!
...but still waiting on just the rear shocks to a Fox 4-A setup from Accutune (+ Hammer hangers) - back in April they said maybe August for those.... :annoyed::frusty:

Perhaps a July 4 tire sale will help to ease my suffering:oldglory:

...was just checking the Cooper website, looks like Cooper has eliminated the ST/Maxx from their website offerings. That is too bad for me, was planning for a new set.

...seems like a temporary glitch in the Cooper website...back today

I run a 235/85-16 spare under my 4Runner and Pickup with 265/75-16 on the four corners.

a tire that’s 1.2” skinnier turned sideways is now a free 1.2” lift kit at the lowest point of the tail end.

They make great trailer tires as well!

I just looked too and that's a bummer. Email the company about it and/or check with some local tire suppliers.

Just put these on today 235/85/16 Falken At3w. Thinking about adding 1.25 whee spacers.
