Here is my current review of my new 2025 Taco:
    Likes -
    Sufficient Power
    Great throttle response
    Comfortable for driver and passenger
    Easy to adjust dashboard instruments
Crawl Mode is amazing on ice
Love the locking diff and limited slip
    Great Sound system

    Dislikes:
Small Fuel tank (270 miles max)
    Poor Fuel mileage
Remote Climate control on app does very little
Remote Start only stays on for 10min
Heated seats/steering wheel don't come on with remote start and no way to set it.
Seat Belt Chime is the worst and can only be shut off at dealership but they refuse
    Slow to connect to phone
Can't control what display setting/layout for radio touch screen has a default that requires resetting each time you get in.

So I've done several tests of 500 miles in each of the modes (sport, normal and Eco). The best fuel milage was 17.8 mpg in ECO mode, 17.3 mpg in normal and 16.8 mpg in sport mode. I used super unleaded in sport mode anticipating poor fuel mileage. I did this twice with similar results. The maximum distance I could travel in Eco was 270 mile per tank, in Normal I dropped to 263 miles per tank and in sport all the way down to 249 miles per tank of fuel. I then added a 2.5" lift and 33" tires because I am a glutton for looks. Now mind you the tires are only 2" taller than the stock, and the 2.5" lift is in reality 1.75" taller than stock. After these add-ons and only three 500 mile road trips my new fuel economy in Eco was 261 miles per tank 17.1 mpg, normal 256 mile per tank and 16.8 mpg and in sport 238 miles per tank and 15.9 mpg. Needles to say Toyota needs to either bring the 6 cylinder back and add the twin turbos to the Taco but regardless add a larger fuel tank no matter what. Now I know these aren't all inclusive and people will say don't be a lead foot, but in reality I get better mpg's in my Dodge Ram and have more power than I could ever use. I am also aware I can buy a long range fuel tank and installed foraround $3500 or $2500 if I do it myself but that is beside the point. I just expected more considering all the hype and advertised 22-26mpg. I just wanted asmaller truck again that my wife would feel comfortable taking and I could commute in.

I've heard of an TRD Off Road and I've heard of a TRD Limited, but I have not heard of a TRD Off Road Limited. Is that a new offering for 2025?

Limited is its own trim level, its not TRD.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
A larger fuel tank would be nice.

I've learned from trial and error that if you leave the heated steering wheel and seats on when you stop the truck, they will still be on if you use the remote start. However, if you use the saved climate control settings, it will still leave the steering wheel on, but it will turn the seats off. Seems like a simple software/programming fix!

You have to get the TRD Offroad Limited Pro 6MT Hybrid to get the larger fuel tank with the heated seats that turn on w remote start.

Dealers will call them a unicorn, but they're out there.

You can search inventory on the Carista app

    Happy Friday!

The TRD Off-road Limited Pro is what I purchased. However the tank is the 18 gal and I was told it does not come with anything bigger. This was supposed to be just under the “Old Man Emu” edition. But it didn’t come with the bigger tank either.‍♂️

Why not just wear your seatbelt? What if you get in an accident and your body is flung out of the vehicle and impacts a health compromised person?

No no- it has to be the TRDOR LIMITED PRO Hybrid with the 6MT and the long bed.

Longbed 6MT’s have more room for the bigger fuel tank because the transmission is smaller and the longer wheelbase.

There’s a bunch of people mad though that when they have a full tank, it gets the Taco lean on the passenger side and Sheldon told everyone that the 4G fixed that.

Tacoma guys bitch about everything- my cup holder is too small, this screen is too big, this turbo is too loud, I don’t want to push buttons, etc, etc

Still waiting on a picture of the truck.

My 4th Gen, with the 18 gallon tank, has slightly more range compared to my 2nd Gen with the 21 gallon tank. And that is with a 285/70/17 tire on the 4th and 265/70/17 on the 2nd Gen. The range anxiety crowd must not be coming from a previous Tacoma.

Same. My 99 has right at 300 miles range, same as my ‘24. But my ‘24 has 130hp more, 200lb ft more torque, sits on 33s, and weighs a thousand pounds more.

I too notice the slow to connect to phone. Will turn truck on and it won't auto connect to android auto and start Spotify until 1 block down. At first I thought it was not going to connect but realized it just took a while
