    I'm wondering if I am simply missing something but my rearview mirror seems to be perpetually in night view mode. I cannot find any buttons on the front or back of the mirror and there does not appear to be the flip-switch one finds on most other vehicles to change it to regular viewing. Does anyone have any thoughts?

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Are you using it in digital camera mode?

    Unfortunately, I don't know. The only little space on the mirror, that I thought was the camera is on the backside facing the front windshield. All of the documentation I saw in the manuals, talks about all these buttons on the front side and/or a flip-switch. My mirror has none of that. Only that little divot in the backside appeared to have something to do with measuring the light and possibly controlling the mirror darkness. I could not find anything showing how to regulate the "digital camera mode". If you could enlighten me, it would be greatly appreciated.

    You probably have the normal (non premium) mirror. It's kind of a shit feature IMO because it doesn't darken when the sun blinds me in the mirror at dawn and dusk, but it does darken about 80% of the frame half-assed at night, so there's this ring of bright light around the mirror. Just give me a normal flip mirror and I'd be happy.

    Check that there's nothing obscuring the sensor on the dash or on the mirror. It's also got a power plug up in the headliner. Have you installed anything up there and forgot to plug it back in? The sensor is on the front (forward facing towards hood) of the mirror. I have a dash cam in front of mine and it still seems to work okay.

    Sounds like you do not have a digital rear view mirror.

    Hey CrispyTacoLover, Thank you for the YouTube video. Unfortunately, you know where the lady flips the switch or lever forward, does not exist on my mirror. Basically, my mirror looks like a simple mirror with no buttons or levers on it. I decided to cover up the place that might be the camera on the back side with electrical tape as some have suggested and then see if that makes a difference.

    Again, thank you for your assistance.

    BAR.

    Hey all,

    I checked the specs that list what my truck is "supposed" to have and listed are two different lines: "Day-Night Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror," and "Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror." Whatever it might be, there is no flip switch like older cars have; there are no buttons, either to control anything. It is probably not one of the new "digital" mirrors. However, it is definitely dark at night and darker than a normal mirror during the day. I will check to see if any sensors are blocked but I don't think so. The truck if fresh of the lot. And the only work that has been done was the installation of steps so I can get it!!

    My 17 had it as well , it was nothing fancy. The mirror on my 24 has 3 buttons on the front and each button has dots that light up . 1st button has 1 dot, 2nd button has 2 etc…

    @Bar28
    Since you have the auto , just make sure it’s plugged in good . Even unplug it and snap it back in and see if it does anything. :thumbsup:

    Wrong person dude. I have a sport premium and a digital mirror on my 24. The first 3 buttons are for garage doors. My 23 had those as well. I was saying the OP just has an auto dimming mirror and not a digital mirror like I have or the one in the shared YouTube video.

    Can you take a pic of the mirror? Need to see what the mirror side looks like.

    Thanks for posting that. I had no idea the camera was adjustable, and it'll help the view through my Smartcap.

    I will take a picture after I get off work. I hope I am responding to the correct person and that this was addressed to me! :D:D:D

    And I know this is a stupid question: how do you know to whom you are responding? I don't see a button to press to respond to a specific poster. It seems like every message board has its conventions. Again, sorry for the stupid question.
