6 days after my purchase, my tacoma was rear ended by a semi and totaled. Of course, the insurance company cancels the policy and i need a new frame but cannot find one anywhere.

anyone have an idea of what to do?
    Thanks in advance

Pro se or professional legal work? Are you saying you're in a situation with no insurance or a denied claim? If you were hit from behind was the driver cited or did you insist or push for that? Are you trying to make a claim with that person's insurer? In or out of warranty and in general parts are hard to get these days. Do you have a 2nd vehicle? If you don't have something else to drive I'd be picking that fight first.

The few times (I'm old now) I've been hit from behind I pursued that person's insurer to keep my policy claim free. Maybe it's too late but I'd still push at solving this from the person at fault.

Getting a 4G frame is going to be difficult or impossible. How did you drive a six day old truck that is now uninsured?

If your new truck that the bank presumably owns is totaled and uninsured. Your best bet is to take the hit on your credit and let the tow yard and the bank that you are voluntarily repoing the truck.

    Edit

Did the trucking company cancel their policy? That would be something for your insurance to handle.

Im in a “no fault” state so it doesnt matter who caused the accident, and my insurance company receded my policy and claimed that i had never had insurance with them.i lpaid over half the value in the truck inna down payment and am suing because what my insurance company did is illegal. I will eventually win several lawsuits as i need neck surgery and my insurance company will settle….but in the meantime ???

Have you been calling body shops? That does not look horrible from the pictures, and I am wondering if the frame can be straightened/fixed instead of replaced. Where do you live? There has to be a shop that can fix the frame somewhere near you...

It sounds like the bigger issue is the legal and insurance mess.

Im not aware of any state where no fault applies to anything other than medical. While you may also have that to deal with that, from the vehicles perspective, the driver who hit you will need to pay/their insurance pay to repair your vehicle

Frim my understanding, the 4g frames are designed to curl at the end. Thisnis curled 360 degrees and all 3 places i took it said that it needed to be cut and welded

If it can be cut and welded, why are you searching for a new frame??

Man, I am really sorry, and I hope your neck is OK. Terrible luck, but at least you are still around to pick up the pieces. Getting rear ended by a semi could have ended worse. Oh, and that semi driver (or his/her insurance) should be on the hook for this! I am also in a no-fault state (NC) and my insurance agent just told me the other day that if I am hit, the other driver's insurance company has to pay up. I learned this when I was considering dropping collision on my old truck.

Responsible For the damage to the vehicle, not medical even though i was rear ended.

my insurance should cover the initial coats and then negotiate with the trucks insurance company about what was paid for

    ….my understanding

From what I have heard online those could pass for normal body panel gaps and bed alignment on the 4g... Obviously joking, sorry to hear about your situation.

Outside of the legal situation (I would highly recommend just dealing with lawyers not internet strangers) maybe call around to some junk yards for wrecked 4g's? It will probably be a long shot, but you never know. Be cautious of anyone online "parting out" wrecked vehicles, lots of scams. Contact some dealers and see what a frame would cost and time to get it. Fred Anderson in NC has a good reputation for parts. Do you have rental coverage? AAA rental coverage?

Your insurance company has to provide you a written explanation of why they denied coverage. You said they "canceled" your policy. Why did they do so? Also, what state are you in?

Michigan no-fault laws apply to property. MI is a very weird state when it comes to auto insurance.

The frame cannot be cut/welded. Full replacement is the only option.

Any wrecked 4th gen in a junkyard is not going to have a good frame. No chance of that.

Any wrecked 4th gen with a good frame is going through a salvage auction and is going to be bought by a rebuilder.

Yeah it was just a shot. With so many electronics and airbags I was thinking it may be possible to find one with a good frame. Is it possible to access salvage auctions some how? I would guess it would be cost prohibitive going that route tho.

I have already bought another car from a family member. My 3rd in 6 months, my ex totaled the first one. Yes my laywer is dealing with it all. I just want my taco running.

yes, michigan sucks. Are you saying that the trucking company will have to pay for a new truck in addition to the pain and suffering? Sounds like this may not be worth fixing. Any idea what it should be worth?
