Anyone see an official number for the maximum water fording depth for the 2024 Off Road? I've seen 2.25 feet listed for older models. That's probably a bit more than the deepest water I've driven through, and higher than I'd ever risk, but just wanted to make sure. Usually I cap my water driving depth at around 18-20", so I have some margin for error :)

Some of my shallower crossings in my Colorado are in my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgH9C3NLLjT-fXIY_OTN8LVK-QnfsMgEp , but the deeper crossings I'm usually paying more attention and not recording them! I do this stuff on a regular basis where I am, roads flood all the time and I am usually driving flooded roads that I'm familiar with and can easily judge the depth. I also always have rubber boots in my vehicle and I have enough off road experience to know to walk questionable crossings first.

I haven't seen a published depth, but I would make sure to waterproof some of those sensors hanging down in the front, I can't find it at the moment but there is a pic of a whole lotta electrical connectors hanging down in the front that might become an issue in the event of a deep fjord.

Simple formula/guideline: Nothing deeper than your front or rear center caps on the wheels. If there is a wave of water entering anything at or above the lower slot of the front bumper at any speed, you're too deep and risking sensor damage or worse. The rear diff vent is 2-3" above the axle. Electrical and and vent connections on the front ADD and transfer case actuators that may have old-age cracks are at, or below this level.

Expensive stuff, and if it gets dunked and drowned on your way in, will it (truck) be able to sail you back to land and to the main roads multiple miles away on the return trip?

Stock is to the height of the rear diff breather. Once that's relocated, your door seals are the next limitation. The door seals aren't waterproof.

Your username makes me angry because it’s a beer only made once for a few months years ago and never again. I have nothing useful to contribute to the actual post.

In other words, a 50K off-road truck shouldn't be driven anywhere except on city streets :) That sounds about right. Seriously I'm old and I remember driving trucks through water all the time, with water coming in the doors, and never thought twice about it. I've completely submerged the whole front end of my Colorado, including having a wave come up over the windshield (that wasn't the plan!), and not had issues. I think for any truck that is marketed as being an off road vehicle, 24" should be about the minimum. I watch YouTubers testing off-road trucks and claiming the vehicles are so incredible, it's laughable. Most of the off road courses they test on are less of a challenge than the county roads in winter and spring around here. I hope the Tacoma off-road is still designed to be used like a truck and not a passenger car.
