I'm expecting my new 2024 TRD Off Road to arrive any day now. The standard size is 265/70R17. I'm trying to see how big a tire I can put on without rubbing or need of lift kit. I'm thinking 287/70R17. Who has supersized their tires yet and can comment on this?

My 2011 Tacoma I went from 245/75R16 to 265/75R16 without issue and they looked much better.

    Thanks,

    -Ken

I went from the stock wheels and tires to a set of LT285/70R17. With the stock mud flaps they rubbed at full lock until I added the fender flairs which eliminated the stock mud flaps. No rubbing and I really like the looks.

Are the wheels the same spec as factory? Width, offset, backspacing?

I went with Toyo AT3 255 80 17's 33.1 inch tall, 10 inches wide. I am going to get a 5th tire in a few weeks and try it as the spare

This video helped a lot with that decision

I’d just put 40’s on it with just fender trim.

yea great video, here's the verdict from the videos description "So, what is the best size with no lift and factory tires? A 33-inch tire (285/70/17) would be the best for performance on and off-road. The 255/80/17 would be best for miles per gallon and off-road use. The 285/70/17 is the best-looking tire with just as much usability. The largest tire is 285/75/17, but we would recommend trimming the front bumper a little and removing the crash bracket and mud flaps."
