Mine bought from the dealer did not. Can you verify the pan crush washer is the same as the old one? Never dealt with a plastic oil pan before and I want to do thing right.

odd, none of my cartridge filters bought over the years from Toyota/Lexus ever came withe the crush washer (blue felt washer), only o-ring for the housing/filter canister.
I usally buy online for ~$1/each, but had to get to the dealer for the last one and it was $4 for one.

I just changed my oil last weekend with a filter I bought at the dealership because I didn't want to wait till 10k. It was like $5 for the filter!

The filter had a washer in the box so I put it on the drain plug. I didn't really think too much about it

Interesting. The last couple times I've been to my local dealer's parts department to get a filter they just threw in the crush washer for free

Nice! I was expecting it costing around $1 so I was surprised at the price on the receipt. But, it is what it is = dealership things, I needed it at the moment and non-oem filters at the auto parts store was around $12 bucks anyways and I would have still needed a crush washer.

In the beginning he states it was a pre production model. Could be they changed it? Mine looked/sounded like plastic to me.

Pan is still metal, just has some plastic guard. Also takes the same blue aluminum crush washer they've had forever.

Before you ask, I just crawled under my truck to see.

So it's all been covered, but to summarize.

    1. Toyota oil filters don't come with the drain plug washer, but some dealers throw it in by default.
    2. Some dealers charge a lot for the drain plug washer.
    3. The oil pan is still steel, not plastic.
