I just received a 2012 tacoma extra cab and want to put oem trd rims on it...There is a local seller on island with 2023 trd rims and tires w/ 500 miles on them..

He will not budge from $1300

Is this a good deal on my part? I wanted it at $1100, seller on a different island has the same thing for $1100 obo... :(

    Yeah.
Those rims are around $250 each new. Tires are around $200 each. So, new would cost you around $1800. I think $1300 is a little high and $1100 is reasonable, but I'm cheap. In your situation, people may generally be able to ask more.

How much would you be in it if you got those other tires or ordered from the mainland?

    Welcome to TW

You said "island" twice. Would you have to pay for shipping from "other island"? What brand/model and size of tires on $1300 ? They gotta fit your truck. What is your model truck. Other info like is it lifted? What "island" are you on? People here can help more with more info.

I’d pay the $200 convenience fee, beats having to swim home with wheels on my back

2023 takeoff wheels are going for high dollar right now. I would love to get those wheels. 1300 is a super bargain if the tires are under 1000 miles. The sets I have been pricing on CL and FBM are going for at least 1500.

Those wheels are the best looking Tacoma OEM I have seen in the past few years. I got a set of 4 2016 TRD offroad wheels for $350 in 2020 (I only wanted 1 for spare). You may get a super bargain if you are willing to watch and wait. I sold the other 3 to TW members for cost + shipping (state employee FedEx bulk rate... like $100/wheel total including ship).

Takeoffs in the PNW go for WAY cheaper. I'm glad I'm on the mainland, I guess.

Aren't the OEM rims 7" wide? Too narrow IMO.

I think it’s a terrible deal… on the main land. $900 max would be my limit and that’s based on my own sale price of my stock take offs, so it’s a little bias. But that was the sweet spot to make a sale. Hawaii might be a little less offerings out there.

These are just the TRD pro rims though, right? OP didn't specify, i made the TRD OR assumption... but who knows, maybe he meant TRD Sport??

You say oem new truck. There are more than 1 model of Tacomas so also tires and sizes. You don't say what brand or model tire. There are many and they're not all the same. If you're on Maui there are lots of Tacomas and lots of sales of tires and wheels and parts from private people. Just keep a look out and maybe join a club. Tacomas are the state (unofficial) truck of Hawaii and especially Maui not like Frontier. I bet patience and research will pay off.
Have to say my heart bleeds for Maui and especially Lahaina. I've spent a lot of time there. E Malama Pono Maui Ohana.

Does anyone have a link to a trusted site of new TRD wheels for a '23 tacoma?
