Looking to swap out my halogen lights for OED LED headlights. I've looked at the Morimoto and Alpharex LED headlight replacements but seems like those are pretty poorly reviewed compared to OEM?

Curious if this is an incorrect assessment, and if so, where a reliable place to buy OED LED headlights from is (that's not the dealer ideally).

I found some on Ebay, but those are all only the TRD Pro headlights. not sure if the LEDs on the OR models are just using the pros? but i feel a bit cheesy having headlights that say "TRD Pro" while driving an OR.

    appreciate any insight!

This ^. Finding the part numbers around here for the 4 different versions (L&R and pro L&R) is pretty easy too.
The pro versions will fit, only difference is “trd” lettering in the passenger fixture and “pro” in the drivers and some trim in the housing is blacked out.
As for where to source them your best bet is an online Toyota dealer during a sale. I got mine for 1.1k on a 25% off and free shipping sale on Memorial Day. That way you retain the OEM warranty. I’ve heard around here that sparks parts has pretty good pricing on oem LEDs year round

If you want OEM you are going to have to buy from a dealer. Just order from an online one during a sale to get the best deal.

    Yep, from Sparks.

    I paid:

    L-$664.92
    R-$661.00
    Harness-$85 (From Dave Easa)
    Total:$1410.92

No regrets...except, paying $485 as an add-on prior to delivery would have been 100% better. lol!

You can look on offer up or here for used ones or just buy them from sparks as other people have mentioned. I got mine from a member here for $1000 and the adapter that daveeasa makes on offer up for $35. Saw a pair on offer up a few weeks ago that sold for $950.

    • The best LEDs assemblies are the OEM LED headlight assemblies covered in post #3626 here. They have excellent improved low beam and high beam, better than stock with upgraded bulbs, with unmatched quality. While the Morimoto v1.0 assemblies failed to meet the output intensity of the OEM LEDs, the Morimoto v2.0s upped the output intensity to greater than the OEM LEDs, but failed in other parts of the headlight execution such as lacking necessary uplight and poor build quality. See the full v2.0 review in post #4548 here.
    • AlphaRex is not a legitimate headlight product. It is a short range flood light shaped like a headlight. More info here. Definitely avoid.
As others mentioned, best pricing is by shopping by part numbers from dealers online and looking for any discounts/sales.

    Morimoto XB

Seems like everyone has the OEM LEDs in my area, so I went the Morimoto route. They stand out a lot more than the OEM style. And it’s almost unbelievable at how bright the LEDs are, which could be good or bad depending on what you like. I like standing out personally.

I didn’t use the add-a-fuse cable because my stock headlights were halogen with the LED DRL strip, so it was complete plug and play. The SR guys have to use the add-a-fuse though since their headlights don’t have the DRL.

MESO/Morimoto XB tails are the only legit LED tails on the market
