Does anyone know what the production start date is for our 2023 beloved tacos. Do both plants in Mexico start on the same day?

I’m just curious as to why you need to know the first day of of production of the 2023

There’s a rumor going around it’s this month. He’s probably one of us waiting to get theirs built and wondering if it’s gonna be a 23. Mine is supposed to be going together around now I think.

Because it lets people who hold 2022 order or allocation whatever you want to call it an opportunity
To make a choice. If there build date has pushed beyond the 23 start date they then know they are getting a 2023. Or they could start checking for unclaimed 2022 tacos that need a home.

My personal feeling is I would be more concerned about getting a 3rd Gen or 4th Gen. If I were buying around this time, I would look for a 2022 or 2023 that was built closest to what I want. Might even lean toward a 2022 as I don't expect the 2023 MSRP to go down.

Usually around September. Some configurations may be delayed, for instance we didn't see Blue Crush Metallic for 2022 Tacoma's until late October 2021.

When I bought my 2022 a month ago the dealership told me the 2023 would not start coming in until early spring of 2023. Of course I wouldn't put much faith in the salesmans word.

Don’t think anyone orders a 2022 and gets a 2023. If you put a deposit on a 2022 for a possible allocation and they stop producing them before you get it, your order will be canceled and you’ll have an opportunity to transfer your deposit for a 2023 future possible allocation (at the price they will be).

I spoke to a dealer two days ago who just got their first allocation of 2023s. He mentioned the build date for that batch was mid September, on the lot within 6 weeks after that.
There could be 2023s being built sooner (right now even), but if you were to take said dealer at his word production of 2023 Tacoma is starting at the latest this September…

Is there any material difference, aside from the couple of mainly cosmetic packages that we know are being added, between the 22 and 23?

I don’t think so. Just a couple package changes and some different colors.

This is true. You still need to "get in line" again so to speak, but you would obviously be one of the first if your dealer isn't slow with the transfer.

There will be no unclaimed 2022's. New model Tacoma usually start late August, early September and are at dealers in October. Every year. Year after year. Like clockwork.

The material difference will be an increase in price for 23.

I wonder when Toyota will stop building 2023 Tacomas?

Doesnt look like they will start building anytime soon. No changes in volume, so no ramp up activities. Unless they start in November...
