2023 Taco gas mileage

Afternoon All
Ive owned 3 Tundras and am looking to get a Tacoma
Looking at a 2023 TRD OFF ROAD
What can I expect for gas mileage ,, I know there are a lot of variables , but just on the average
With my present 2015 Tundra I get between 18 and 22

My 2023 gets just that, between 18-22. I really have to baby it to get 22. Probably close to 20 for most daily driving.

 

Mine is new.
When I drove it home from Fresno, it came with a full tank of gas.
The dashboard indicator gave me 26.2 mpg at best case, on the freeway, over 175 miles in a single trip.

I have yet to actually measure it by topping off the tank, then driving, then topping off again.
I have no idea if the dashboard is accurate, or not.

 

I drive mine mostly around town I’m not being hard on the accelerator or anything. It’s a manual and I shift around 3500. Can’t seem to get over 16 to 17 in the city. I took it on a long road trip and never got above 19 MPG at 70 mph with minimal cargo. Maybe I’m doing it wrong

 

Around town in the winter I get about 14.5-15mpg. Summer around 18mpg. Long trips on highway I’ve been able to get up to 27mpg

 

I need to calculate it myself I’m suspicious the computer is inaccurate

 

if you are getting 18-22 out of a V8 Tundra and considering a Tacoma for mileage,,, you are making the wrong decision. Your truck is magical and is WAY above average.
My Tacoma doesn't even get 18-22,, and didn't when stock.

My '21 TRD OR AC Auto over 2 years has AVERAGED 18.5 mpg. Best was 22.1 mpg and the worst was 15.0.
All are based on calculated values at each fill-up.
It depends on your driving habits, including the duration of each and every trip.
Short miles per trip = crappy mpg. MPGs are best after having driven 5+ miles.

 

My Fuelly shows me at 18.72 MPG average over about 50,000 miles. Fully mixed between city, hwy, and some occasional light towing (1250lbs).

 

I have a ‘22 off road, manual transmission, with no fuel-impactful mods.

8 tanks, all mixed driving (split of city and highway varied each tanks), lowest mpg 17.3, highest 20.3.

I see 20-ish on all-highway tanks, (can easily get 22+ if I drive like an autistic snail, 18-ish if I drive 75-80 mph or greater)

For me, truck-reported mpg averages .5 mpgs higher than actual

 

10-14 if you start modding

cause bigger tires = better time

 

20+ mpg from a 2nd Gen Tundra?

 

I get around 16-16.5 in my stock 23. If I drive it like a complete douche I can eek 17.2 out of it.

Are you looking for a stick or auto Taco?

Sticks get worse mileage, just FYI. I average 16 in town and 20 on the highway.

 

Long highway drives about 22-24mpg assuming no cargo

 

My ‘23 has a little over 1,000 miles. I have gotten just shy of 20 MPG at each of my three fill-ups so far.
