I’m looking to replace my 2010 with a 2023 SR, I’m confused on the trims,
I see the plain SR with the silver rims and then the SR with the black rims and fender flairs,
It has the SR decal on the end of the bed. I really just want the silver rims no fender flair’s.
Websites can be confusing it will show both sometimes?
Is there a designation of some kind or vin # to tell them apart?

Others cam chime is with experience as to trim levels available, but I advise you to not tie your happiness to "I want specifically <this>". As Rumors/facts about 2024 models being different come out, 2023s are becoming quite desirable and dealer stock levels of any level of trim is "whatever happens to be available to a dealer". Get on a list with a dealer, be ready to act immediately when they call you.

    Just my $0.02

My 2023 SR is a bare-bones, no option, base model and it has the silver stamped steel rims.

I’m not aware of any factory wheel options. AFAIK, all factory trims have a designated wheel and only the TRD Pro comes with a black one. I’m guessing you are looking at trucks that have been modified. It might be useful if you linked the web pages you are referring to.

SX package was discontinued on SR for 2023 and made available on SR5 both access cab and double cab. Previous SX package was availble on SR access cab only from 2018-2022.

I checked the builder on Toyota.com and don’t see any wheel options for the SR, but the SX package for the SR5 lists 16” black alloy wheels.

A little further advise ... SR is the least expensive option so leaves many $$$ for upgrades. Get what you can, then upgrade the wheels and possibly tires as well immediately, posting the 4 original for sales. They tend to go fast here in TW as "extra spares" even separately.

That's what I did. Got an SR and upgraded wheels & tires. Stock steelies & tires will go on my 2012 daily driver when it's tires are worn out, so that was a plus for me.

Ya don't need all the BS bells & whistles higher end models give ya. If ya do, install it yourself cheaper & learn a bit about your new truck at the same time.

Keep the 2010 & drive the wheels of of it, ya won't get shit for trade in value. I've got 535K on my 2012....best vehicle I've ever owned.

It's a shitty market, and desirability on our taco's is up. So unfortunately this is true. I basically drove past 5 Toyota dealerships to get mine. It was a few months ago, but my only qualifications were (Quad cab) (under msrp) and (TRD OR) -- I wanted grey, but was basically willing to accept any color...I just so happened to get grey anyway...but either way, you may have to give/take a little...or be willing to drive for it.

I bought a basic SR 4x4 with steelie wheels. Right away started hunting Craigs and FB and found a guy de-chroming his 22 TRDSport. Had maybe 200 miles on the tires. $1000.
Sold my steely wheels and tries with 1000 miles for $400. Couldn't be happier. Never did care for fading black plastic fender flares. PIA to maintain. Next upgrade was a BA steel plate rear bumper.
    NO decals except mine.

I’ll pick it up tomorrow, it just came off the truck before we got there,

They are throwing random shit on random trucks when they can. I ordered a 2022 SR5 in MGM. I specifically wanted the steel wheels (future trade with friend). Didn’t ask for the huge red panels on the doors or the dash, didn’t ask for black/dark charcoal alloy wheels yet there it all was. Even dealer said wtf…I ended up taking the truck because they made me a deal after we had already agreed on a price before hand.

After digging and investigating, the manager found out they do this from time to time to get rid of inventory items. My window sticker clearly shows steel wheels with no alloys added for any cost. Apparently the panels were random too. Some trucks get red some tan some brown. Who knows.

Saw an SR on the lot at a Virginia dealer a few weeks ago that had SR5 alloys on it. They were not on the sticker.

As stated don’t get your hopes up for A,B, or C on anything. You might get A+B/C and get a what the hell as a result.
