    Hi,

I wanted to throw out a feeder and see if TW members could help me in determining the price of the new TRD Pro UCAs. When I called my local dealership's parts department, the gentleman who answered the phone wasn't able to find anything yet for the 2022 Tacoma Pro but he also had no clue that the 2022 Tacoma Pro is coming with TRD factory UCAs as he mentioned, "Toyota wouldn't make something people can't see so I don't think they are making that for 2022."

All I know is the labor costs are around $500 for both UCAs as the parts guy mentioned, 4.3 hours at a rate of $100/hr(+/- $50).

Do yall think it's worth it to swap out the current (2021) UCAs for these new 2022 TRD UCAs or should I look to other brands? (I have a 2021 TRD Pro). Thanks!

The parts numbers aren’t released until the truck is for sale so no dealer will have the price on them now. Most likely they are rebranded uca’s anyway.

I'm currently waiting to order a new TRD Pro. The sales guy said it might be in the next month or two that they start taking orders.
I doubt the TRD UCA's will be an item you'll be able to get anytime soon.
    As for being worth it?
That would all depend on the cost/price for the UCA's. (And the specs for the UCA's)
I would assume that since the 2022 is advertising the Pro as having a bigger lift they would build in caster to the UCA's but exactly how much is yet to be seen.
TRD Puts their name on it? It better perform really well.

You'll be better off with other aftermarket options, based off your desired lift. There will be a market for these, as buyers want that oem performance and look. However, don't expect these to be cheap at all and second hand market prices may be expensive as well. Dealer cost of a set of factory upper arms are already expensive, so I can't image the retail on these.

If you park your truck outdoors or its exposed to a lot of elements, say goodbye to that pretty anodized red. I've had experience with anodized red and it tends to start fading away when exposed.

What would make these new UCA harder to get. Would be a TSB on pre 22 TRD Pros where the new TRD UCA would replace the OE Toyota UCA.

it looks like the exact same balljoint as the steel arms. if it turns out to be so then i see no reason besides a bling factor to get these. but then youd be better off going aftermarket to get benefits of a high angle balljoint and high castor

Nobody is going to know if these are any good till they start popping up on trucks. They are something that isn’t available yet for a truck you can’t buy.

    AKA JBA's...

A real baller would buy Icon Billet UCA's and anodize them red... :spending: Probably still cheaper than OEM Pro UCA's.

I would also love opinions on whether it is worth getting the icon tubular or billet or if something like those Freedom Offroad UCA,s for 375 would do the job? Still Learning pardon my ignorance lol

I don't think they're rebranded UCAs. The TRD UCA is forged and every other one I've seen of similar design is billet. Forged is stronger but only makes financial sense to produce in large enough quantities to achieve economies of scale due to the up-front capital investment involved in setting up forged production.

Well typically Toyota rebrands parts for their TRD line or makes changes to make them more distinctive. I don't think Toyota would tool up just for UCA's. I'm thinking they just buy them. I could be wrong.

Fair enough. So who is producing a forged UCA for aftermarket purchase?

Buddy I'm not the one contending these are rebranded aftermarket parts. Google it yourself
