Considering a Westcott Designs lift but I’m spooked by potential issues like front diff vibes, adverse CV axle angles, stress on stock suspension parts. The 2022+ TRD Pros come from the factory with a 1.5” lift, so I’m wondering if that somehow lessens the odds of getting diff vibes and other issues if I lift it another 1” or 1.5” with Westcott.

Also, the Westcott kit has a bottom coil collar/perch and top plate spacer. Is there any reason why I can’t omit the top spacer if I only want say 1” of additional lift rather than the full 1.5” the kit supposedly gives?

@JuanitoBonito has had the Westcott kit for a bit I believe.

I’ve got the Westcott kit along with RXT leafs going in soon-ish. Also planning on doing the ECGS bushing when installing mine.

You can omit the top hat spacer.

It rides like crap, I’d only run the top spacer.

wasn’t impressed with small bumps on highways causing harsh response.

Hm, thanks for this, I was wondering about the ride quality with the preloaded coils. Westcott says their kit doesn’t affect ride quality but I suppose they can say anything they want. I really don’t want to compromise the stock ride quality.

Maybe I’ll just get 3/8” top plates to try to get 3/4” additional lift in front and be done with it, and replace the 1/2” rear blocks with Icon AALs.

I thought Jeff animately says it’s not a spacer lift?

So when using preload to lift, it IS moving the shock. There is a little wiggle room, but on internal bypass shocks which is what the PRO shocks are, there are different zones where the shock performs differently. You will be moving the shock closer to the bump zone.
That said, in another thread, @AccuTune Offroad has explained to me that preload itself doesn’t itself affect the ride quality. If I remember correctly.

In theory, preload on a coilover should not really affect ride quality, if done correctly. Too much preload can cause ride quality issues bc you may be topping out the shock too quickly and too often. Too much preload on an Internal Bypass Shock could also be an issue if the shock is now riding in the top out zone. The shock is designed to be stiffer in these zones, so if you are riding in them or close to them it can have adverse affects on ride quality. These preload spacers are still a better option than a top hat spacer.

I have a 21 pro with the Westcott kit on it. Only had the truck a week before putting the kit on in my driveway. Came off of a 17 offroad and the fox's ride better than the bilstiens. It's been on for over a year with no issues. Leveling the truck does make it harder to see over the ram air nothing toyota slapped on top of our hood.

I had initially sourced a TRD pro Fox complete kit for my 2nd gen. I added the Wescott kit to it and loved it. I sold my 2nd gen for my 3rd gen Pro. I knew I’d be adding the wescott kit right away which I did. You should have absolutely no worries with it as it is made to compliment the TRD pro fox shocks. Your cv angles will be fine, vibs won’t exist, and it will ride like a dream. My truck feels like I’m driving on a pillow. It’s awesome. One thing I wouldn’t do is delete any part from the front lift……such as the the top hat. Use it all as intended. Another bit of advice…..only buy the front part of the wescott kit and not the rear blocks. Blocks suck ass. If you want the minimum best bang for your buck as far as a rear lift. Do a progressive aal. Wheelers or icon. You’ll thank me later.

Westcott front preload+tophat, Icon AAL rear, 1" block to replace OEM .5" block. Work In progress.
Nah, it rides like shit, vibes exist, and the cv angles are pointing down. I swear ppl get paid to post shit like this.

I've been running the Westcott coil perches and Eibach lift springs for more than 3 years now. No vibes, rides just fine, and my CV angles are good to go. I did the boot slide mod for the inner CV boot just for peace of mind. Not getting paid to post this.

Did you go with a larger tire? I’ve heard others have had problems with bigger tires hitting their UCA.

If your tires are hitting the UCAs then you have an issue with tire width, wheel offset, or both. That's nothing to do with the lift. I'm running 35x10.5r17 without issue.

I have 2017 TRD PRO. Added WD kit a few days before going to 285/75/16. I immediately noticed a very slight hum/vib under feet before adding tires. The ride was same as I could tell. After tire install, ride seems a slight bit harsher. I attribute the harsher ride to the added weight of the tire and fact that they are 10 ply’s. Added the Yukon ECGS, hum/vib gone. I ended up 22-1/2” from center hub to fender all around. Very happy.

What do you guys think of a wescott kit for the front of a 23 pro and icon rxt leaf pack for the rear? I'm trying to keep some rake. the wescott kit adds 1.5" to the existing pro lift and 22 and 23 pros are .5" higher than earlier so I heard that i should leave out the top wescott spacer and just use the bottom, as it'll net the same lift and prevent binding? option 1 icon rxt leafs for the rear would add 1.8ish" in the rear...would that still leave me some rake? the 22+ comes with a .5" block in the rear...
