@Hogleg918 - MGM! In full disclosure, the high priced truck is from CarMax. My wife and I both like CM because the lack of pressure (like most people I assume) and their money back guarantee (recently cut from 30 to 10 days). That gives us plenty of time to get a pre purchase inspection, etc.

 

Found several in the low $40’s MGM with Premium and LED. Few CPO units even which will be nicer than CarMax certified.

 

@Hogleg918 - I was just looking at that one! It's about an hour or so away from us. Is there any concern that it was a rental or that it has a lot of miles for one year?

I wouldn’t write off a rental, odd that a loaded TRD OR would be a rental. Feel free to get it inspected. Already has a nice warranty on it that you can get extended to 100k on everything (not just powertrain) for $1,200 from Jerry in Kansas.

 

@Hogleg918 - who is this magical person Jerry? I've seen him mentioned on this forum a bit, but all I know is that he offers warranties. Does he offer legit Toyota warranties? The same ones you would purchase through Toyota? I take it his warranty would need to be purchased prior to the original factory warranty has ended? I apologize for all the questions

 

@pMill, yes, the warrantys that Jerry sells are genuine Toyota warranty’s. Yes, the exact ones that are sold through Toyota. And lastly, yes, you need to purchase the extended warranty before the factory warranty expires.

Damn. I realize it's not "apples to apples" but 28,300 for my SR 4 cylinder is looking better all the time.

 

I found (thanks to a forum member) a perfect TRD OR yesterday and drove over an hour too see it. Drove home, waited an approx an hour for my wife to come home, received the credit app and halfway into filling it out -- the salesperson texted and said it had been sold.....Ughhhh. Day ruined. @T.BROCK - We may just indeed look for a new. However, for my wife and daughters enjoyment - it would nice to have a sunroof. That is not an easy find with only a TRD Upgrade package. We have lots of SR5, TRD (sport and or) at the dealerships around us, but none with a moonroof.

Ugh sorry, not too pile on, but any good one at a good price will sell instantly, be prepared to buy immediately. Of course you could strike deal contingent on inspection.

 

1) Enter the VIN on KelleyBlueBook.com. You will get a very, very reliable estimate of fair market value.

2) You can always make an offer of considerably less than the asking price. Many dealers aren't budging a penny on new vehicles, but there may be room for negotiating on a used one.

 

Imho you can’t compare prices to other years. Sure people paid less two years ago. I’m not saying it’s good price what I’m trying to say is that you have to compare with other prices now. I paid $25k for a brand new full size truck 10 years ago, how does that compare??

 

I realize it's not exactly what you've been looking for, but all TRD Pro models have a sunroof. I got mine at Alexandria Toyota a few years ago.
