Yep. A cat shield is less than my deductible and adds protection off-road, win win!

My thinking as well. I have the full steel RCI skid package, which still leaves the cats fairly exposed. Thankfully they now offer a $150 aluminum cat protector set to fill the sides, no brainer IMHO

It's becoming commonplace for peeps having their cats cut out in open area parking lots! People coming out from work and starting their suddenly noisy cars! These brazen douchebags just aren't bothered by exposure as they have speed on their side. By the time some passerby registers what is happening and begins some reaction, d-bag is gone. Samr principal for theives cutting locks on bicycles right on a busy city sidewalk. Everyone just walks by and does nothing. It's now proving to be a cartel thing.

OP, honestly it depends on where you live. I park mine in a garage but my wife takes to work everyday. There is a homeless camp nearby and shit gets stolen all the time. So even tho it's garaged it's still not totally safe. If I lived in an apartment complex I would get one with out hesitation. I am still thinking about getting one because cat theft is so effin rampant here in Washington state. Crackheads suck.....Good luck!

Happens a lot here in Phoenix. Doesn't seem to be a big problem with Taco's tho.

We need a belly pan front to back for these Tacoma's. First it was the catalytic converters and now they are drilling holes in peoples gas tanks to steal gas. They steal a couple gallons and let the rest run out plus you have to buy a new gas tank. I think my next "mod" is going to buy a hand gun. I never thought I would ever consider doing that. Guess again.

I have had my cats stolen from my Sequoia.

Sucks balls since they were OEM only to the tune of $4k.

I just rec’d my Cat Shield aluminum style. Reasoning goes the tweekers take your shit, insurance pays off to repair, then raises your rates, tow your rig to the shop for repairs, rental car for “HOW MANY DAYS!?!?” or sleep easy every night knowing said tweeker rolled right back out from under mines and stole yours across the street! :rasta:
Edit: and the aluminum adds 5hp!

    Oh look, another mod....
Paying a deductible is no big deal?
Being a victim is no big deal?
Waiting (possibly) weeks to get the part installed on your truck is no big deal?
Being with your truck during that time is no big deal?

Paying a deductible is no big deal? No, not for the small chance that my converter is going to be stolen. How many vehicle owners out of 1000 do you think will have had a converter stolen? I'll take those chances.

Being a victim is no big deal? No, considering the times we live in and much-much worst could happen to you, not a big deal. I've been robbed by gunpoint twice in my life. One as a teenager as a cashier in a grocery store and latter in my auto parts store. So no, having my converter stolen would be no big deal to me.

Waiting (possibly) weeks to get the part installed on your truck is no big deal? No, as I owned a chain of auto parts stores for 16 years and have a lot of connections so I would not have to wait anywhere near weeks to get a converter.

Being with your truck during that time is no big deal? No, as I have four vehicles to drive, so no big deal.

What are you going to do live your life worrying that your cat converter may be stolen? If you are going to worry about something, worry about a nuclear war with Russia. At this point, I believe there's about as much chance of that happening as my converter being stolen.

Well everybody, since Mr. Jones is perfectly okay and satisfied with the status of his catalytic converters and all that could possibly be involved, we should indeed ALL feel the same way.

I vote we close this thread right meow! Our problems have been solved!

I couldn't care less how you feel, I'm just saying I don't let something with as small a chance of my converter being stolen negatively impact my life. Including my business delivery trucks, I've probably owned 150 vehicles over my 40 years of driving and not a one has ever had a converter stolen.
