Hey all! I am new around here and excited about picking up a new 2022 Lunar Rock 4x4 OR in a few weeks! I spent about 5 months searching the market due to low inventory and ridiculous markups but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I originally wanted a cement Tacoma but getting the next best thing.

I definitely want to change the tires but not sure what the best route would be. I’ve read that 4Runner 17s are the easy way to go but any other suggestions are welcome! Any lift options would also be appreciated. If you can, please post a picture

For people to make honest suggestions you might need to provide more info on what you want to use the truck for. Adventure vehicle? Daily driver? Rock crawler? Mall crawler? Maybe narrow it down a bit so we all can help. What’s your budget?

Maybe consider looking at 2021 tacoma upgrades, see where it takes you. I guess you can also look the 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016 tacoma upgrades too.

I understand the advice to wait, but with manufacturing behind 3-4 months, it doesn't hurt to start planning now.

Big ticket items with long lead times include: front bumper, rear bump, rock sliders, skid plates, roof rack, and bed rack
Potential backorder items: suspension parts (front coils, rear shocks, leaf springs) and MESO Customs interior lights.
Quick items: bed mat (the OEM one is great) and floor mats. If you regularly carry a larger water bottle, consider the chalk bag mod.

EDIT: I forgot to add tires. Those can be quick or backordered, depending on what you want. If you want 33s, I recommend 255/85/16. Absolutely love 'em, no cutting, no trimming.

I drove my truck stock for a while getting used to it. Now I’m upgrading NG based on what I need. For instance… got more comfortable wheeling so now I’m doing harder trails and need more traction… new tires!

Next up on the list are going to be skids, then sliders, then maybe a lift.

Like the previous comment… some quality of life stuff is always a good idea. WeatherTech mats and window vents, and glove box/center console storage. Also if you’re going wheeling, you’ll need a couple hundred in gear… tow straps, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, tools just in case, etc.

thanks! it’s not my main vehicle so it won’t be a daily driver but I guess it will be used more as a mall crawler as I live in the city. My family and I tend to go camping a couple times a year so that will be as adventurous as it will get.

I’m slowly looking for and acquiring stuff for the interior for my superior white SR5. Super white with blackout badges is the theme, and red and black interior as a theme.
    O’sh** handles (have)
    Organizers (have)
Seat covers (reached out to Rough Country and Wet Okole)
Floor mats (waiting for WeatherTech and Husky.)
    Chrome deletes (waiting on MESO)
    Bed mat (not “interior”) [OEM]

    and watching for:
tonneau covers (Rough Country or Diamondback)
    Sliders (undecided)
    Wheel/tire combos (black…) [want to run 33s]
    Exhaust (waiting for Carven…)
    Air intake ( TRD)
    Lights (undecided)
Lift (whatever I can run 33s on. Truck will be my daily driver + Turkey/duck hunting rig)
    Bumpers
    Grille (undecided)

I’m going in that order mostly (subject to change based on availability). Have a 10k budget from the wife. Anything extra, I have to work extra for. Open to suggestions and direction here.

When I got my 2020 SR5 the first things I had when the truck came in since I put a deposit on it while in transit to the dealership were. The glove box and console organizers. Vent visors, hood struts, screen protector for infotainment system, cup holder and door pocket mats, Led interior lights and changed Grille surround to a black one.

Then with in a few months I got a tonneau cover, bed mat, had the front windows tinted. Replace the stock speakers with all kicker, added red arc Trailer brake controller, AJT design chrome delete kit, and ordered custom seat covers.

I plan to get husky weatherbeater mats if the Toyota ones that came in the truck get worn but if you get them with yours I'd use them too.

Edit: I forgot about the tires, I changed from the stock 245 all season tires the SR5 came with to Cooper Discover AT 265's back in MAY and sold the stock tires for 175 on market place. I did keep the Dark Charcoal Sr5 wheels cuz I do like them but something in bronze n black would look good just not ready to blow cash on wheels yet.
