Looking specifically for replies from owners of the 2022 SR 4x4 2.7l Access Cab model ONLY.

I have not done much of anything to my 2022 truck yet and coming out of an 85 4runner 2.4l, an 89 Tacoma 2.4l, and a 93 Tacoma 2.4l - the 2022 2.7l is like a hot rod to me. Historically maxing out up big mountain passes at 45-52 mph to be able to 80 - 90 mph is like rocket stuff.

I found an New Old Stock camper shell added that. I added black lettering. Added a FJB Edition stick on. I added a step up mostly to protect sides from parking lot door dings. Other than the bed lights no extras.

Curious about experiences with tires in general, satisfaction with changes, mpg loss, and ride. Or anything else you can add to conversation. The listed questions below are suggestions chime in your experience, wishes, or ideas - good or bad - since owning one of these great trucks.

    - What is the biggest tire you put on the vehicle without any mods? Pictures?

    - Biggest tires with mods? Pictures?

    - What have you towed weight wise and how did it go?

    - Thoughts on Smart Cruise?

    - Other mods you are happy with?

    - Mods you could of lived without?

Stick with 245/75 r16 size with thr 2.7L especially if you're adding a shell on the bed. You'll feel every ounce you add

I’m not sure why you are limiting responses to a specific trim, since almost all mods work on all trims.

What's up man! I am currently running stock TRD Offorad wheels and tires (265/70/r16) on my SR. Only mods i've done were the AJT cupholders, tint, and N2 designs remote start with keyless entry.
The N2 designs was the best money i've spent on this truck.
I thought I could deal with using the key to unlock it every time but it got old quick when i started accidentally scratching away the paint on the doorhandle near the keyhole.

Smart cruise on these trucks is dog shit. I can't use cruise control period with my truck. It keeps the RPMs above 3k just cruising at 65. If you have any type of wind or incline in your daily commute its game over.

The next tires im going to go to are going to be 265/75/r16 and I think that's the perfect sweet spot.

I have 265/75/16 gy ultra terrains from discount tire. thinking of going back to stock size at tires. could stick with the 265s when I regear. i'm tuned and that has helped part of the problem is the altitude since i'm in Utah. going to put a camper on it at some point and plan to keep it light as possible.

I switched to 265/70/r16 on my SR. It accelerates a little quicker now that I have light alloy wheels. No change in MPG either. The factory SR dad wheels and tires suck.

Good thread. Just picked up the SR. Anyone running one with a lumber rack? How’s it affecting mileage? Thanks!
