2021 Tacoma door wiring for Amp Power Steps

I am trying to figure out the color diagram for the wires that are in the wire loom running the length of the seats on the floor. The instructions got me to connect to drivers door wire by chance but the other color options they give for rear drivers door has like several options. I tried 2 and I don't want to keep poking around since I have 3 more doors to do.

I cannot for the life of me find the color code for the door ajar wire... please help (Picture for reference)

M6 is behind the Driver's side switches. You'll need a panel removal tool to remove the switch/cubby.

 

I was just going to splice into the wire loom on the floor, do you think that will be a problem? With this diagram I can at least confirm the colors. One question, do you know what upper and lower mean for the door courtesy?

 

Kick panel is "nicer/easier" to access.
Upper & Lower is for AccessCab.

 

Got it! Thank you for your help. I kinda think the wire loom is easier only because I have pulled up my door Gaurd on the floor many times but my loom is open right now anyway but I will remember the location for the future

 

Finally getting time to tackle this but looking at the diagram again could you point out where the pink where is connected in the plug? In the diagram it looks like number 36 but that’s not shown on a plug. I have had a chance to think about it and your right it’s easier to take some low voltage wire and extend them to switches to guarantee the connection to correct wire.

 

The wording is killing me.

The PINK wire (Rear Left Hand) leaves connector 1H_spot 36. This connector is on the Main Body ECU facing the cab, easy to access.

 

Sorry If I missed that call out but I do see it saying number 36 I just didn’t see on any diagram provided where 36 was and I didn’t want to guess.

Love my Powersteps. Only issue is the crappy dim purple led pods they included. I have new 5000k replacements, just need some time to swap them out.

 

Any chance the number should be 17?
I plugged into 27 but didn’t get it to work opening driver side passenger door? I could just try it but I am hoping you might be able to respond quickly. I just don’t want to make multiple incorrect taps. Thank you

 

Sorry I wasn’t reading doors correctly. My driver side rear is pink and once I hooked that up drivers side works. Now just passenger front and rear on IL1 17,18 and I should be set.

 

It's 36. Are you using you phone or a PC to view the info?

 

Yup you are correct it was 36, looking at diagram my head assumed the pairs are front and back. My fault for not reading!

 

Haha hey with your help I will get it, but yes it’s probably going to be a show until I do lol. Driver side and lights are working so I got it 1/2 done haha

Saw it now. You could have them Slide down at unlock...or at least have the lamps turn on at unlock...if you like. Or swap the lamps for some KC cyclones.

 

@caribe makaira is there a good primer on understanding these electrical drawings? Are these drawings in the service manual or a separate document / set of documents? Lastly, is there a source for connectors that someone could use to create a custom "harness".
