2021 Tacoma Dome light stopped working.

Hello everyone. Have a new 2021 SR. Changed bulb in dome to LED but had screw driver in hand and touched contacts and it sparked. Blew a 50 amp fuse. Changed fuse but still no dome lights. Check 5 fuses in left side compartment, all good. Checked every fuse under hood also and all ok. Never put in LED. Put factory back in still not working. Help

Don't check fuses by looking at them only. They can be blown without appearing to be blown.
Use any cheap meter (sometimes free at Harbor Freight) to check for continuity or check by substitution with a known good fuse.

 

On the top of each there us a metal contact. I tested each one and my circuit tested says positive. Then I pulled each one and check visually. Only blown one I found was the 50 amp. It was under the hood. There is 4 Red 50amp fuses. The one that blew was the 3rd row from left, Lower Rt. Only panel in lower left area under drivers side is a small 5 fuse panel right behind switches for dome and cargo switch’s. Its zip typed to steering column bracket. Don’t see anything else. Will take off cover and inspect more.

 

The interior fuse panel is directly above your foot as it would rest on the dead pedal. White plastic cover with a fuse information label on it.

I'm not sure what type of bulb fits in the dome fixture, but try turning the bulb. I've found LED's are polar.

 

I've never heard of a dome light protected by a 50 amp fuse.

 

It's "upstream" of the Dome fuse.

 

If it's not a fuse, the worst case it could be blown BCM (Body control module). If you search around on here, you'll find a few threads about it.

No blown fuses. No dome light. Guess I'm headed to Toyota for dumbness.....

 

Did you check for juice at overhead connector?
15 (dark pink) is juice to lamps. 12 is ground.
