I'm going to embark on this wonderful wiring journey this weekend, and I think I've researched and read so much that I may have confused myself and am hoping I could get some quick guidance.

My plan is to replace the door speakers and tweeters, running them off the kicker key amp, and then using a powered subwoofer as well. I have all of the components ready, but where I am stuck is:

    1. Red Wolf harness that I cut to create both sides for the Kicker key.
    2. I bought this harness https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09XWPX7P2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 to wire in the subwoofer with the line out - should this be in the signal BEFORE, or AFTER the kicker key amp - and if so - do I even need this adapter?
    3. I will need to run power to the battery with a fuse for the subwoofer. In a 2021 with nonJBL, will I also need to run an additional power cable and fuse for the kicker key?

Thank you all for the help, it is much appreciated

That adapter will entirely depend on the subwoofer amp you pick. Let us know that amp and we can go from there

you will get the subwoofer signal BEFORE the key amp, on the skinny side of the harness

In the ‘20+ years, running power to the battery for the key is the best option. It’s not as simple to grab power at the radio like pre-‘20 years. It’s very easy and you’ll already have to do the work for the sub amp anyway

I have the harness with the line out attached, but I think I am confused on how I am going to utilize it to build my own harness, since the cable colors and amount of wires dont match up...

You’re going to need to make some minor modifications, but nothing hard.

here are the wire colors beside each other. You can see that the negative wires are all in a row on the bottom (the side with the clip is the top) and the positive all on the top.

Unfortunately it seems the LOC is wired to the rear speakers so we need to cut it off and wire it to the fronts.

    as far as process
    -cut the harness in half.
-cut the LOC off and cover up any exposed wire (ideally with heat shrink)
-splice the radio side of the harness and the loc to the key’s input harness (the smaller one)
-splice the key’s output harness to the other side of the cut harness.

You may want to make a quick not of which color wire is which. Reference the above photo. The blue wires on the end will not be used so they can be cut off or de-pinned

Destin, thanks. I'm building the harness now and swapping the LOC

I assume the blue wire for the Kicker remote turn on wont be used?
