How is everyone installing their driver side seat cover with the new power seat plastic and wiring in the way? I'm debating on pulling it all apart... Anyone take photos of the steps by chance?

I have a set of cover king neosupreme covers on order that should be here in a week or so. I'll find out then. Those covers are supposed to be made for the 2020 power seat though.

I've got my leather covers off my 2018 and RuffTuff says they should fit the 2020 fine. It seems like the plastic panel is really tight to the seat cushion so I might have to pull it off.

A lot going on under driver seat. I just tucked it in the front and said heck with all the straps. We'll see how it holds up.

I’m struggling with this issue right now too. Trying to install some custom made neoprene coverking seat covers. Their installation video that allegedly covers 2016-2020 does not include any info about getting around the power seat. I might try just tucking in the sides without the S hooks and if they don’t perform well, I’ll return them. The frustrating thing is that one of the s hook straps is supposed to go right where one of the powered switches is, and I’m concerned that even just tucking the fabric in (which requires some force) may mess with the wiring and housings if anyone did figure out any hacks I’d be curious to know too

I have the Cover King Neoprene covers on my 2020 w/ power driver seat. I just tucked everything on that side and didn’t worry about the hooks. Coming up on a year soon and no issues so far.

the only thing I’ve done is take out the anti slip grip pads bc they kept bunching up and getting all lumpy, but that’s not related to the power seat panel.

Might depend on the the backing material, but my tucked driver seat cover hasn't moved a bit. I actually went back and trimmed it so that it wasn't bunched up behind the plastic (above the switches).

I had a bit of a difficult time with my CoverKing neosupreme too. The drivers seat was the most challenging.
I had to raise the seat up nearly as high as it went to get the straps that go front to back in as high up near the underside of the cushion as possible. I had to use the blue tool to feed the straps from the back.
The front and sides I used the blue to tool to work the fabric in starting on the right side were the plastic trim doesn't go around the side by the console. You can get all of the fabric under if you work at it. Then if you feed the straps high as possible and around the wires you can buckle them and tighten them up.
Use your hands and the tool to get the side s hooks in it's not really easy and better if you don't have big ape hands, if you do you may need a spouse, kid or sibling to assist. Once you succeed in getting them under hook to underside of the cushion. IMG_20201020_183139.jpg

Thanks for these tips, guys! DTaco, you’re right I feel like once I actually was able to tuck the sides in it felt pretty solid without using the s-hooks.

I did the same, it was a true pita to hook everything up and I was worry I tighten too much the straps b/c the wires/harness were in the way. I was wondering if they go above the harness but there is no way around to do it that way, so I left it as is.

I installed a carhartt mossy oak seat cover on driver side my power seat yesterday...suppose to be a 10 minute job that took me over an hr.... I have large wrists, and hands for one. It was a real pita to pull this cover over the seat being tight as all hell. After a lot of cursing, at least i didn't tear anything. I finally got it. Its a tight cover, and looks good. Was going to do the passenger side today but right now its raining.

Do you have a pic of it? I'm considering the exact seat cover.

No pic, but i hope you have better success if you decide on the same. I know a friend with a 2019 taco that installed regular grey carhartt seat covers. His looked a bit baggy after a year in the truck...said they went on loose that way. Idk, wished mine were a bit looser fitting.

My plastic is really tight against the fabric and holds it in place. Seat cover is about 1-2" beyond the plastic. Has never moved.

I wish I read this thread sooner...

I did this yesterday with the RH neoprene ones. I removed the pop off buttons and unbolted the side plastic (single bolt at the rear of the plastic) to lay my side strap between the two adjustment buttons before putting the plastic back down and in place. But for some reason the bottom rear tilt will not long go up and down. I have to fiddle with it and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesnt. Im going to open it back up and remove the strap that is tucked between the two adjustment buttons and see if that clears anything up. But I dont see how the stap sandwiched between the plastic and the two adjustment buttons could be causing any issues. Its flat as can be and not pushing he plastic trim out of place or anything. Maybe the strap moved and is blocking the rear adjustment. I dunno. But I wish I just tucked it in there and not bothered with the strap now!

It was my seat covers side strap interfering with the bottom seat button after all! I ended up not using that strap and the seat cover doesnt move or lift getting in and out of it. Thank god. I thought I had damaged it!
