Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this forum so excuse my ignorance of my question has been asked a lot.

I recently purchased a 2020 tacoma trd offroad in quicksand and I absolutely love everything about the truck, except one thing. The chrome rear bumper caps. They look super out of place to me and want to replace them with ones that are color matched. I know a lot on here will say to go with the plastic ones, but I'd rather have them in quicksand.

That said, it has been a pain in the butt to find a source for this. I think i found a place to buy them, but don't know if they're legit or not. Has anyone bought anything from this site? Are they good quality? To good to be true? Let me know everyone. If you have a better place to get them, let me know too.

They appear to be a smaller business that specializes in painting/vinyl work. I believe they just buy new parts and paint them as ordered. I believe they're all plastic though, even the chrome ones.

I’ve heard of the company you referenced, but I don’t have any indication of the company’s reputation.

Quicksand seems difficult to color match. You could order a set of bumper caps and have them painted at a local shop.

@eCOOL1 produced a limited run of BumperShellz in Quicksand, but sold out rather quickly.

So, I decided to go ahead and order a set. The company has been very good at responding to my questions and has done a good job at updating me along the way, as well as being very upfront about everything, including time frames.
The bumper caps should be here this week. I'll let you all know how they look. So far I've been happy with the company and am thinking that will continue.

I used black plastidip. 5 bucks and it looks really nice to have a black bumper. Most are either chrome or color matched. 1 can is plenty, did 5 coats.

Cut up some trash bags and used blue tape. Didn't remove bumper to paint. Looks amazing.

I have no idea why Toyota put the chrome on the rear bumper? it is not he 1950s anymore! I changed mine out for black caps within a couple months.

I don't know, I've got a quicksand sr5 with chrome caps. I found a larger than average chrome receiver plug that ties those chrome caps together better...i get a lot of complements on the truck. Many have told a set of chrome wheels would be the real ticket, but i'm not up for that.

I got the bumper caps in yesterday and I gotta say, they look pretty good. Ill upload some pictures once I've put them on.

That brings up a question for me, too. What extra parts do I need to order to swap them out. I assume I need to order some new plastic clips? Does anyone know the best place to buy them? Any other parts I need to order?
Also, best youtube tutorial for it? Everything I've read on replacing the bumper caps seems pretty straight Forward, but i know that it rarely is that easy.

    Any help is appreciated!

I ordered mine back on August 26th and haven't heard anything from them. I went with black tpo that showed in stock. I just emailed them.

Anyone know the answer to my question about the install?
I really want to get the bumper caps on the truck by Saturday, so I'll need to grab/order the pins today, minimum.

Any update lol? Interested in ordering soon if the product color matched and fit well (OEM-like or close to).

Recently purchased a 2020 quicksand OR, and the chrome is really throwing me off. Such a nice looking truck from the front, but once that chrome reflection in the back hits your eye.. yikes.

I just put mine on yesterday! They look really good, way better than the chrome. I'll attach some pictures in a minute.

As far as fit, they fit exactly like the oem ones. I only have one regret in doing this, and that is, I wish I would have disassembled the whole bumper, not just the caps. That way i could get the little metal clip back on. My ocd is killing me.

All in all, it is a good, inexpensive option. I do have two complaints though. #1, the paint job was not the best in the world. It's fairly good, but not the best. #2 the caps they use are obviously aftermarket and not as thick as oem.

All that said, I'm happy with the purchase and will add pictures in a minute.

For $45 you can do a 3 stage paint job yourself. That's what i did and it came out great. Why pay $200+??

I was planning on ordering a pair of these for my new 2020 OR, but when I picked it up on Friday the rear bumper turned out to be colour matched....is this a Canadian feature? Or are some chrome and some colour matched?

You should be able to reuse the attaching hardware to install the new caps. I clipped my garage last year and had to replace one, the hardware was salvageable.

I had the chrome (expensive to replace) but went with black instead. I was never really interested in a color match for my truck, so much easier to contrast than trying to match.

Jsinnard were did you get those black caps? And how close does it match the rest of the black plastics. Have been looking for the black that matches like that.
