    2019 Tacoma TRD off road
    Hello,
    I am looking a getting a travel trailer (Ozark 1620BHLE) and it has a 2900lbs dry/GVWR of 3800lbs. I have a V6 double cab 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD off road 4x4.

Do you think my truck will be able to handle the weight with a weight distribution hitch and sway bars? I have 1000lb payload and I have seen some mixed forums on if I could handle safely.

Depends on your expectations and where you tow. The drag on a tall trailer like that can make for a miserable experience.

I've towed a slightly heavier travel trailer with my '23 TRD OR and have been content with the Tacoma's abilities. Being able to monitor the transmission temps can be comforting. I agree with Tim above.... your expectations can cause you to not be happy with the Taco's abilities, or it can may you content with it.

The shape of the camper can be as important that the actual height. For instance, the shape of our travel trailer has a tear drop front that helps cut through the wind. Here's a pic of 3200 dry weight camper at the scales.

Shape is a huge factor. I've towed about 6000lbs in the form of a car on trailer from Vancouver to Grande Prairie on the Coq with the ability to maintain and accelerate at the speed limit of 120kph up the mountain passes. However my 1500lb (Shasta) travel trailer empty and with an empty truck can't accelerate over 100kph on a flat road with my foot to the floor in 4th because it's a big brick
