    Hello everyone!
New member to the family here as i have just purchased a 2019 taco i have been dreaming of since I can remember and I'm in love. I need some help though.

When I first brought her home, my HU had all the apps (Sports/Stocks/Gas/Alexa/Iheart) I downloaded the Toyota app and went to connect all of them. Once I successfully connected all of them I went back to the Toyota app "Connect App Suite" and now every time I click on get more info the app just crashes. I also have the Entune app they told me to download but there is nothing on it, no app suite, no account or settings buttons or nothing (Picture attached)

I have called the Toyota App number multiple times and they have been no help. twice I have been hung up on after being on hold and the other told me to delete all my personal data, delete app and try again. I did that and now there are no longer any of the "Entune" apps on my HU anymore. The app still crashes and the Entune app still has nothing do to.

Does anyone have any suggestions or has this happed to them before? Thanks in advance.

I attached photos of apps to share. In the Toyota app once I click on get more info it just crashes.

Do you allow the Entune app to communicate with your Tacoma? I never use the Entune app suite because it’s worthless to me, but I did have it installed at one point. Whenever I started the engine I would get a notification on my phone asking me to allow communication with the Entune app suite. After allowing communication, all of the app suite apps would be available on my head unit. I believe they use the cellular data from your phone to function. I’m not sure if this is what you were asking. Hopefully this helps.

Mine works perfectly...scroll down and hit "Get More Information" then hit connect...don't know why you have a blank screen with no apps however.
Maybe disconnect the vehicle battery for a minute or two?

    Thanks for the replies everyone
@Duckinatruck - how do i allow it to communicate with the truck? Nothing pops up when i start my truck. I remember doing that when i first added vin number in. And engine had to restart and everything. I know in order for me to get texts on my HU i had to allow notifications on my phone. Do you know how i would allow it to communicate?

@Travelinman301 - that’s the problem! When i click on “get more info” the app just crashes and doesn’t go anywhere. I can click on everything else except for the get more info button. I have deleted it and installed again, i have removed my truck and re installed it and the vin and still nothing. I need a way to connect to those apps again on phone but can’t get to them.

    Any suggestions?

I just installed the app on my phone again. Looks like it communicates via Bluetooth. By the way, the Entune app is always blank (on your phone). It doesn’t show the app suite in the Entune app, but you are required to have both the Entune app and the Toyota app. After you allow Bluetooth communication in the Entune app, go back to the Toyota app (WITHOUT CLOSING THE ENTUNE APP) and select “get more information” in the section titled “Connect to App Suite”. And you have to have the Entune app open and running anytime that you want to use the apps in the head unit.

    Thank you @Duckinatruck !

i opened up my Entune app and then also opened up Toyota app. I am still unable to click on get more info button. I click on it the wheel spins for half a second then crashes and sends me right back to where i started!

Also when i open my Entune app it doesn’t say connect to blue tooth at all but i went under settings and allowed access for Entune and Toyota app on blue tooth.

i also tried installing on my iPad and connected that to my taco to see if it was my phone but it too still just crashes.

Idk why but i feel it’s some sort of Miss connect between the apps on phone and getting it to the HU.

I also noticed I received this email last night at 1am (1 month after I brought my vehicle home) I tried clicking on MyEntune.com but it is no longer valid? Does it take time for it to work after passing title or something?

    very aggravating!!

Hmm. I’m afraid I don’t many other ideas. I do know that it requires a data connection through your phone. So, if you don’t have a good connection, that could be an issue. Go to the cellular data settings on your phone and make sure cellular data is turned on for both apps. Also, try connecting in your truck (accessory power on) in a place where you have a good Wi-Fi connection if your cellular data connection is slow. Mine started working right away without any delay. My only other advice would be to fully delete both apps and then re-install them. That way, you will be sure to have the most updated software and they should ask you to confirm connection settings again when you re-install them. The crashing app makes me suspicious that the apps need updates on your phone.

Here’s a picture of what you should see after clicking the “Get More Information” button:

I appreciate the help!!! I have deleted and restarted about 5 times (twice today) and deleted all personal data which sucked haha.

I just got off the phone with the help and they said they logged on from their phone and were able to click on get more information but nothing happened so idk what that means. They said I might have to do a 30 minute battery unplug but I think its more something with my phone or the app. If anyone else has any ideas or suggestions feel free to throw some out there.

Now onto browsing the forum to get some new mod ideas!!! the addiction has begun!

Try removing the Entune app and only connect thru the Toyota app. Toyota basically killed off the Entune app about 6 weeks ago.

I'm having similar problems. Entune stopped working today and I got a notification to install the Toyota app. I installed the app and was able to sign in no problem. When I click on "get more information" the app crashes. The apps like Live x Live and I Heart Radio aren't working on my headunit. My phone still shows it's connected via Bluetooth though.

I have a 2018 TRD Off-road and my phone is a Google Pixel.

Same problems here. You are not alone. So sick of Toyota tech being such garbage. I was stoked when they got Alexa on board, but that ended up being a pain in the ass due to having to log in to the app almost every time. Awesome truck, 10 year old tech. Mine is a 2019 and my phone is a Galaxy S21+.

I'm currently having the same problems as well. Entune worked fine when it was the separate app, but now that Toyota made the Toyota app all-in-one, I haven't been able to use Entune. I allow the permissions it needs but the Toyota app keeps on rebooting and won't connect. I read somewhere that it was an Android 12 compatibility issue with the app.

For reference, my phone is a Pixel 6 Pro running Android 12

My phone is iPhone 11 and the problem is as described above. So I don’t think it’s just an Android problem.

Update: I downloaded the (now neutered) Entune app along with the Toyota app, and the apps are now working consistently. I'm not sure if that is what fixed the problem or if there was an app update, but in any case it seems to be working as it was with the old Entune app only.

Works for me too! I think they updated the Toyota app finally.

I have 2019 TRD Sport w/o the JBL upgrade. 800-Toyota told me to delete the Entune App, Alexa/Entune App and only use Toyota App. My problem seems to be similar to some of the other folks on here. When i click on the "Get More Information" link it spins for a quick second and then goes back to the same spot. I do not get to the "Link Account" screen option. When customer service had me do the "Delete all personal info" process on the head unit it removed the extra app on the head unit e.g., Amazon Alexa, iHeart Radio, etc. I have spent hours now on the phone with tech support. They can not get it working.

I also have tried the battery disconnect for thirty minutes without success.

Question, for you folks with 2019 trucks are you using just the Toyota App and successfully connecting Amazon Alexa with your phone?

I was able to get it working today finally. I still have the old entune app installed with the Toyota app. I'm assuming there was an update recently as this didn't work for me the other day. I made sure all the permissions for the Toyota app were allowed and it finally let me link all the accounts. Once linked, I clicked the connect button and it all worked. The GPS destination search finally works again.

So, can you download things like Google Maps and Pandora using entune? Because when I bought the truck it never worked and I hated - absolutely HATED - the toyota app always having to be on and giving constant notifications even with everything off there was always a notification bar. Literally all I want is Pandora on the dash. Google Maps might be a solid stretch but would also be nice. I have a '22 btw.

Absolute trash you can't just download apps like that.

I don't think so. My 2019 uses the Toyota navigation, but the destination search now works again when the app is linked. I also have IHeartRadio linked as well. I wish there was a way to add apps to entune.
