i'm going through a major repair on 2019 tacoma trdpro where i will need to replace the frame and the cab. wanted to ask what other years and trims would be compatible to go with? or do i have to find the same from another trd pro only?

Cab and frames should be the same across all years and trims.

16-20 as long as its double cab short box frame. Doesn't matter what trim level. Cab is the same as well.

It's peiced out part by part, there is no package, same goes for the frame. You'd be best talking to a wrecking yard or Toyota dealer for such a large purchase.

Most frames are 10,000$ and about 2k in misc parts.

4wd and 2wd frames are going to be different. Cabs may or may not be different, that Im not sure of.

There are six different frame configurations for the 16-21 Tacoma and yes your part number is correct for a 19’ Pro. 2 and 4wd are different your guy is correct.

I have those on my trd offroad 4wd frame, so thats not a 2wd vs 4wd thing, thats a pro vs every other model thing.

The main thing your going to be lacking on the 2wd frame is mounting for the front diff, perhaps a transfer case mount too.

dont risk it, i would bet there are no mounts for 4wd equipment on a 2wd frame. your result may vary BUT, do you really want to find out after you bought it? you wont be able to sell it, or return it, for what you have into it. also understand, buying from a dismantler... the truck was totaled for a reason, your "newly bought" frame may not be straight, and you will be fighting bent, bends, mounting, alignment issues, the whole life of your build. We'll I can say for atleast the 2nd gen trucks one of the cross members is placed 1 inch further back on the 2wd trucks.

Probably a similar difference on the third gen trucks.
