Premium is a small price to pay for the V8 vs the 4Runner's V6...

The infotainment is ancient, but at least it's issue-free. I loathe that the HVAC controls are in the touchscreen, otherwise it's not really an issue. Definitely outdated, though less screen-related stuff to focus on is a good thing in my book.

Can definitely burn mid, even low, though I don't drive enough these days to not spend the extra money on premium.

In regards to fuel, when gas is north of 6 bucks a gallon, and premium adds another dollar, it just isn’t worth it (to me).

The big drawback of the pre-22 GX460 is lack of android auto/Apple CarPlay. I can live with the otherwise outdated system.

But hey, new head units can be had, and gas is currently trending down in cost!

This thing is sweet, someone buy it. That way this thread gets locked and I can’t derail it anymore :D

Can't argue the high gas price thing, though the average price of premium gas in CT where I live is $4.19/gal and regular is $3.15/gal. I drove the GX about 4,000 miles in the first year I had it, so it cost me roughly an extra $280 to fuel versus a 4.0L 4Runner running on regular and averaging the same MPG (which it would with equivalent upgrades/modifications). Well worth the money, to me at least.

New head units are definitely an option, though I prefer the subtle, OEM-looking Beatsonic or Grom VLine kits that retain the factory screen and add Carplay functionality. If I end up keeping the GX, this is one of the first things I'm doing to the truck in '23.

i was at lexus shopping a 2023 earlier this week, and realized one major hangup with the new GX...
the parts department told me up front at least a 3 month wait time before I can get my hands on the oem tow package...
waiting at least 3 months before I can tow may not sound like much, but a drawback nonetheless in my case when considering a 65k$ vehicle

    However lexus is offering a rather competitive apr for new vehicle: 3.5% 48months / 4.5% 60 months / 5.25% 72 months
One of my biggest gripes with buying a used GX has been the used vehicles rates, 6% seems to be the best i can get around here

I cant tell you hoe many times I have considered taking the ferry across to CT to check this one out in person. Knowing the previous owner is a repeat toyota offender is worth a thing or two IMHO

Assuming this thing is in as good a shape as it appears to be (it looks really nice), if you have similar mods planned, I think you’d be crazy not to take a look.

You don’t get a factory bumper to bumper warranty, but besides that, it’s basically priced at what you will pay stock at Lexus for a used one. Plus it’s $20kish cheaper than new.

The lack of the OEM hitch availability is a big bummer in the GX world right now. A lot of people are aggravated about not only the lack of availability, but the lack of information. I didn't realize my GX was hitch-less until after I bought it, so I added the Curt hitch for the time being.

    I guess I'm guilty of the repeat Toyota 4x4 black hole... two 2005 4Runners (a 4.0 and a 4.7), a 2018 4Runner, the GX... convinced family and friends to buy Toyota 4x4s...

Already have enjoyed it! & will hopefully continue to do so. The F4ncyRunner will stick around and I'll be starting a build thread soon.

Hi folks--- I will likely be listing this as For Sale once again in the coming days.

Current mileage is around 34,xxx. In addition to everything listed above it has a few other items that have been added in the last year. It is still mechanically flawless and the interior is in excellent condition as well.

I am absolutely swamped with life (baby, house, etc) and work but will update the pictures and listing as soon as I can. If anyone is interested please don't hesitate to reach out. I'll probably be asking in the $41,999 range including the stock wheels and other miscellaneous stock parts to go with it, or open to offers for a trade for a Tundra CrewMax.
