    Hey All!

I would like to order a bumper for my Taco, but not sure what bumpers would work with the sensor. I would like a bar on the bumper. I have heard conflicting stories about the CBI Bumper and Victory 4x4 told me theirs would not work with the sensor.

Please post pics and brand of the bumper that you have bought and works please.

There is really no way to verify that the bumpers work with the sensor because the testing procedure from Toyota isn't public. You could install a product on the vehicle and everything would seem fine, no codes would be thrown, etc; but the effective range of the radar could be compromised. The only way to test if tubing was compatible with the radar is for Toyota to do the testing on it in every situation where they test their sensor. Which is obviously not possible unless it's something that they sell.

Ok.....Let me rephrase the question.......has anyone bought a bumper for their 2018+Tacoma that has a bar and not thrown the error code? I don’t care about the effective range being effected. I just don’t want to buy a $2500 bumper and deal with error codes.

I have talked to BAMF and ordered a bumper. They said their bumper would work with the 2018+ Tacoma's and not throw error codes. Their bar is higher than some others and shouldn't obstruct the sensor. Especially on one like mine with the TRD Pro Grille installed. As @monkeyevil of victory4x4 mentioned, there is no way to know what is effected for sure and I really appreciate his honesty and integrity.

My sales and tech team has said they don't have confirmation either way from any current customers. The PRO grill has the best chance of working because of the low mounted radar.

I have a CBI T3 front bumper with no issues with my sesnsor. Works properly and Toyota was able to do the recall a few months back.809302E6-ED58-47CB-BF0D-7BC94F0DF243.jpg

Now with the TRD Pro’s, if I’m correct their sensors are lower and not behind the emblem like other models.

    You are correct. The TRD
You are correct. The TRD OffRoad has the sensor behind the emblem. The TRD Pro has the sensor lower on the grill under the "TOYOTA" name on the grille

I’m leaning to the AVID Lo-Pro. I want to try and get the least invasive option possible that aren’t bull bars.

However, I have the TRD Pro with the lower sensor and trying to make sure I don’t have issues because I love the TSS feature
