Anyone know why I cannot charge my ipad? I use an ipad cord and plug into the USB. it shows it is charging, but it just keeps loosing power even though it is plugged in. I even tried plugging it into the power outlet in the bed of the truck. No luck.
Also I have a Galaxy 10S+. it charges just fine with the USB but won't charge on the QI - just overheats.
    Any suggestions appreciated.

If you are trying to charge through the the USB port on the dash that won't provide enough juice. If you are using the plug in the center console then maybe your adapter isn't providing enough output juice to support a tablet.

I think the USB port is basically just for connecting a phone or drive to the head unit, it doesn't charge things very much. I would say it's concerning that the bed outlet won't charge it, but my dad has one of the bigger iPads and he told me that some wall outlet chargers just don't charge it fast enough to keep up. They can draw a lot of power.

If you haven't already, try one of the 12V sockets in the cab and then one of the Apple brick-type chargers in the bed.

USB port isn't a charge port. The charge you're getting is less than the power the iPad is using. Use a USB adapter in either of the 12V plugs.

The built in USB port barely provides enough power to charge your phone, it definitely can’t charge a tablet

That damn front USB won't even charge a phone if it's using GPS and/or Bluetooth. As others have said, get a USB adapter for the 12V cigarette lighter sockets.

The Qi charger will only charge my Samsung if I put it into airplane mode. And it gets hot. Toyota still has work to do on that front.

I'm unsure why you can't charge it in the bed though. What is that? Like 100 watts? I think my laptop charger is 90 watts; 100 should be plenty for your pad. I'd start looking for a different problem if that's the case.

The front USB port in my ‘17 provides enough to charge my iPhone from nearly depleted to 100% (and keep it there) while simultaneously running Waze and using the phone as the music source.

My USB port on the dash works just fine using the cheap red cable that came with the truck for charging the wife's IPhone 7 while using GPS and the Qi charger does just fine for my Samsung S7...in a hard shell case at that.

My results are the same with the wireless charger / Samsung.
I don't know that I got a cheap red cable with my truck:pout:

those red charging cables are durable as hell. I'm still using mine after ~2 years. those apple charging cables only last a couple months

What do you do to your Apple cables? Mine last years with daily use.
