im a newbie so please forgive my ignorance. So i pulled apart my headlight to lose the chrome. I painted the guts black and the housing with silver to match my truck. After some discussion with some fb members, i am thinking i need to do bi-xenon hid kit since i painted the housing. With that said, i did some reasearch and found the rx350 bi xenon projector. Why is the projector labelled bi-xenon? I thought the hid kits were bi-xenon. Now since the bi-xenon bulb will function as both hi and lo beam through the projector, what do i do with my factory hi beam slot? I hope this is clear, as i am a little confused.
Furthermore, in order to save costs, i was going to keep the stock projector and just get the bi-xenon hid kit. Would they still function good if i dont get the rx350 projector? The question of what do i do with my stock hi beam slot remains
    Any help is appreciated

HIDs work pretty well in the stock projector but the rx350 will perform better as they were designed for HID. Also Bi-Xenon projector high beam will way out perform the halogen high beams. Bi-Xenon projectors have a solinoid that moves the cut off shield allowing for high beam function with the same bulb. The stock projectors are not Bi-Xenon and have a fixed cut off shield. That’s why there is a separate high beam. If you get Bi-xenon projectors I believe you can get splitters that allow your Bi-Xenon high beam and halogen high beam at the same time.

The bulb is not bi-xenon. The projector has a little motor, when powered, will move the shield up or down (low vs high)

You can run splitters for the high beams so the projector and the factory highs work at the same time.

Have you already resealed your headlights? If so, how did you do it?

I have not resealed yet. My understanding is i have to remove all the permaseal with a heat gun and reseal using butyl

Thnx for replys. I think inundetstand the concept of the bi-xenon. It can get costly to get the bi xenon, hid kit, halo, etc. I think im going back to chrome reflector so incan use my led bulbs and consider it a black light headlight mod

I wouldn't use a heatgun, it will be too hot for the plastic and you'll warp the headlight bucket.

Take your time and use a flathead screwdriver to sort of push & roll it out.

@mesojdm has perfected it, maybe he can chime in on his method to removing the permaseal.

Honestly I have around $750-800 into my setup, it is not cheap if you go with a quality setup.

Since this is a broken/extra set of headlights im working on, i guess im in no rush to get them on the truck. May just slowly do it and grab the bi xenon , hid kits, halo and switchback drl. It would definately be worth it in the end. For that money though, i could also ovtune my truck lol

LOL! For what you're getting, they're CHEAP!

The Bi-Xenon projectors come with capsules and ballasts and what not. It's a kit with everything you need.
