Just curious how many miles people have had on the front pads on their Taco before replacing them?, i am sitting at 55k on mine with a little less than half left and just passed inspection. i have owned over 30 vehicles and never got anywhere near this kinda mileage, usually about 30-35k on average.

Its hard to say because there's many factors that affect the pad life such as towing, overall heavier truck due to modifications, the area you you drive in, how you drive. I replaced mine with aftermarket pads at 45k. It wasn't worn out but i got aftermarket wheels and did not want the brake dust on them. When i took out the oem pads they had about 50% meat

I got 90,000 on my 13, had maybe 20,000 left. Very easy to replace.

had over 90,000 on my 96 T100 when i finally replaced them, the back brakes last a lot longer than front.

drum brakes are a little more time involved to replace them than disc brakes but they seem to last longer.

What after market pads did you end up going with and how do you like them so far. I’m thinking of doing the same thing to minimize the brake dust on my wheels.

Almost to 80,000 miles on original pads. Still have ~6-8 mm on the front pads. Have new pads in hand, OG’s just keep on going. I use engine braking (S-mode) a lot and don’t do a ton of stop and go driving.

I have power stop drilled and slotted rotors with the heavy duty brake pads. I have never washed my wheels and u wont find any brake dust on them. I ran powerstops on my 2nd gen, my dad runs it on his suburban. Also back when i worked at my families shop we installed hundreds of powerstops brakes on customers cars who wanted to keep their wheels clean or just wanted to upgrade to something better. Thats the only thing i will run in my vehicles

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Whatever you manage out of the fronts, you should get about 2x from the rear. This should be on any OE street vehicle, and being drum or disc really doesn't matter.

How the miles are done is what matters. Big time interstate drivers will get way more 'miles' than city only or hard mountain drivers.

Here in flat land 70-80k would be my expectation.

An important thing many overlook is basic maintenance. Regardless of mileage, both front and rear systems should be cleaned/serviced at least annually. More in heavy salt country or really wet off roading.

Are you able to run these with 16 inch rims? I know Some brake upgrades require 17 and up.

Changed mine at 80k. They could have gone to 100k. Went ahead and changed them because I didn't realize how much life was left on them until I pulled everything apart, and at that point I might as well just install them

They use the OEM sizing for the disk and the caliper doesn't change, so yes.

Granted you can't run all 16" wheels, some of them hit the caliper.
