I've decided to purchase a 2015 Tacoma TRD Off Road factory standard and would like to install a 2" leveling lift kit to get a nice even height like this Tacoma. http://www.creekwoodmotorcompany.com/2015-Toyota-Tacoma-SR5-TRD-Off-Road-Base-4x4-Lifted-Blk-20s-1-Owner-Searcy-AR-72143/6265940

From what the the guy told me that Tacoma has a Rough Country 2" Leveling Kit and I would like to know is that just the spacers up front and nothing done to the rear? Also, I was wondering if there was a way to coat the aluminum spacer so it would be black so the silver color would not stand out under the fender well?

Thats a nice truck with relatively low miles.

The price is a little bit high in my opinion.

You can definitely powder coat the aluminum spacer

BUT, if you are going to go that far...I would recommend just replacing the spacer with a proper coilover style lift.

http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p440/Coil/Bilstein_5100_Kit_-_(HS05BK-1).html do this kit instead it'll ride better and certainly look the part. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road is very helpful and they seem to always have the best prices.

Would I need the coil and strut assembly? I wounder what model coil I would need as I just want it lifted 2" to give an level level but not have the front nose higher than the rear.

I'm wanting to look into the same thing.

Decided to pursue law school. Talked my spouse into the idea but it was quickly followed by the comment "You know this means no lift kit right?".

A $2,500 full suspension lift is not in my future. But it drives me batso that my DCLB has a 2" rake. Plus its hard to work under the front end when it sits so low AND I'm tired of the tiny bit of going off the road that I do causes my 265/70/17s to rub #firstworldproblems.

I would love a cheap for now solution to my problem. Going with a suspension lift in the front would mean new UCAs right?

So by the time one does new coils, struts, spacer for drivers side, and new UCAs... are we not just a $400 Dakar pack away from the real deal here?

Not sure what the OPs goals/desires are, and I don't want to thread jack but I feel like a 2inch suspension lift in the front is not far off from just an OME 3" set up all around.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

OP could also just get the 5100s and set them at .85 or 1.75 to get his leveled look. Then down the road if he decided to just lift it 3in, he can buy a set of coils and drop his 5100s down to 0.

We all know leveling leads to lifting anyways!

At 2 inches most people don't change the UCA. I went all in and did everything because that's me and I went around 2.5". Just doing 5100s is cheap. I forget what the old man Emu basic kit costs but I put 2.2K in my suspension and love it.

The main thing I wanted was to add a 2" leveling kit like the Tacoma in the link to get that look. I don't plan on doing any off roading and wondered if the 2" spacer would be better as I'm confused as do I need to replace the coils and struts and what to set them to to get that look.

Marie will be able to answer your questions. You can use stock coils or upgrade. Depends on what you decide. I would probably get new coils and leave them set at 0 so the shock isn't pre-loaded

A spacer lift is a spacer put at the top of the coilover. This does not require new struts or coils.

A suspension lift replaces the coil with a longer one and usually you get a strut like a 5100 thats longer and is built for lifted vehicles. So you will be replacing the coilover with a longer one to get the lift.

If you want all look, no function and are on a budget, a spacer is OK. Especially if you don't want to touch the rear.

Also, keep in mind these trucks have relatively weak rear leafs packs. Your truck may look great leveled, but once you put a load in the bed and use it like a truck, she is gonna squat.

So if I were going with the Coil/Bilstein 5100 would I need to add any thing to the rear? Just add the longer coil & strut and set it to what ever would give you a leveled look, correct?

Higher than 2in you don’t need to add anything but you could do an aal or block. Blocks are bad imho but if your doing it cheap an just for looks they are fine.
