2015 entune head unit software update

I recently discovered that my head unit shows it needs to be updated, back in 2019 I updated it from a video that Tacomaholic posted a long time ago and used the file he provided. Now it’s showing up that it needs to be updated again, I check the Toyota website and it shows that it doesn’t need to updated so I don’t know where to go from here. Let me hear your thought fellow Tacoma owners.

 

Are you saying that your headunit itself is telling you it needs to be updated? Or is something else telling you that?

What software version is your headunit currently running?

 

My 2015 never has had any problems or updates.

 

My 2014 started to act up - and I was beginning to think "the end is near". Anyway, almost seemed to be heat related. Disappeared in cooler weather (this is AZ, idle cab temps way up over 110º in summer). After a winter of no problems (2021), I decided to try out a new map chip for a trip - bought one from Amazon for $40 and installed per directions. The odd problems with the unit have NEVER reappeared. Has made me think that over time, the chip connection becomes compromised with surface film or corrosion. You might try pulling the map chip, cleaning and re-installing per the manual instructions.

Hmmmmm. So I have a 2015 I bought in 2017. Never had an update since I've owned it. This link says there aren't any updates available.

Hmmmm.

Checking my radio's screen it doesn't show any update dates and my Gracenotes version and revision numbers are the same as yours. The Software Updates screen numbers are the same except for Audio, mine is 010190, yours is 010190C.

I don't really know what any of that means, or if it helps. Glad to add to the murk.

I have 2018 with Entune Primium non JVC. I've had a few over the air updates and just decided to update my maps with the latest micro sd card. I was having some strange and inaccurate nav issues. I haven't done any road trips to see any improvement yet.

Same, 2015 with GPS non-JBL and never had to update either...
