2015 Entune Audio Plus Issues

Did some searching and couldn’t find much on what I was looking for, but just curious as to if anybody else is having issues with the Entune audio plus in their 2015? Mine has started having Bluetooth connectivity issues and sometimes the unit freezes up completely. Only way to make it work again is to let it sit for 10-15 minutes until the radio restarts itself or shut the truck completely off and then start it up again. Checked to see if there was any software updates, but it says there aren’t any for it at this time. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

 

Yes! I don't have entune, but not the plus. When mine freezes up, I just push and hold the power button and she'll reboot. I've gone long periods where she's fine, and then in this last week she's been freezing up regularly.

Somewhere along the way, I thought I read about an software update...

 

The power button won’t even fix mine..nothing will work on it until I either let it do it’s thing or turn the truck off/on again. I went to the software update site and they have one for the Entune premium, but it didn’t say anything about the regular Entune or the plus. It’s annoying tho! I do know that.

 

My Entune has taken to restarting itself while driving. Can't tell if it's something with Bluetooth triggering it or what.

 

Not sure if it is due to an update recently on the radio or an update recently on my phone, but sometime a month or two ago the radio started freezing up on me 75% of the time when I try to do voice recognition activities on my phone through the Entune bluetooth. For instance, when I try to get the phone to do voice to text either in the native Apple iOS text application or through Google Hangouts, it will usually just lock up and then reboot the radio in about 15-20 seconds. This has become enough of a problem that I am considering ripping out the radio and putting in something aftermarket.

 

Mine will freeze up at random times. I’ll just be driving, not even messing with any controls or anything, and then the music stops and the screens/buttons stop responding. I’m gonna do the same thing here before long tho. Kinda tired of it because it’s gotten gradually worse over the past few months.

 

Mine does it too, freezes up almost every time i start the truck if I hit the home button sometimes it unfreezes but not every time.Also its a crap shoot whether or not my phone will connect. Entune is total garbage if i can find an aftermarket that will work with the factory camera and controls that's going in.

 

There is an update to fix all of that

 

Is it a recent update? I have not seen anything pop up asking me to update recently.

When I first got my PRO last year the stereo/navigation would freeze up randomly ….I took it to the dealer and they updated the software free of charge and I've been trouble free ever since!

That’s for Entune premium. Not plus.

 

I don’t have nav in mine so they aren’t the same thing.

 

Other than replacing it with a aftermarket radio, guess you would have to go to the dealer

 

Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. I was gonna put an aftermarket one in it whenever I started on my sound system, but right now wasn’t really the time frame I had in mind for all that. Might just have to bite the bullet and use this as my excuse to get the ball rolling.

 

With the apple iOS12 update that landed in Oct/Nov it broke the ability for my EnTune+ to detect/read incoming text messages. The feature just completely stopped working. I no longer get notified on the display that I've received a text.

 

I had the same issue and could not locate any updates. I finally called Toyota Support st 800-331-4331, they trouble shot the system with me, reset it, and now I receive text messages through the Entune System again.

 

Do you remember the process for resetting it?
