So, I have had several ppl on here and face to face that said that 2015 is the best year of Tacoma. What makes is better (if it is) than a few years before or a few after?

There is no reason a 2015 is "best."

Many argue that 2015 is the best version because it doesn't have the engine issue that the 2012 has. Couple that with ten years of refinement, I would say that a 2015 is likely one of the more reliable years of the second gen. If I could of waited for the 2015s, I likely would of gotten an inferno pro.

So what is wrong with the 2016 and 17, just not enough time to test?

    What engine issue?

2013-2015 was the mid gen refresh, so why would the 13/14 be a lesser truck?

Toyota has been churning out garbage for decades.
Third gen issues are only new to third gen trucks. Both generations before them had problems, second gens have a lot of the same problems the third gens have.

    17 years later.

Not making a stand, just saying. Second gens had their problems. Toyota doesn't make bulletproof trucks.

Third gens have new issues, and a lot of old ones too.

Same can be said about the 04 or the 94 pickup in a few years it'll be the 21 third gen or something. It's just the most refined of that body style so it's likely you won't get the same design type recalls that engineers might of missed that expose themselves in the first 4 years or so but it doesn't mean there couldn't be a quality control issue that sets you back down the road as companies always shop vendors and suppliers for low prices and sometimes it bites them in the ass. But there probably is almost no difference in design from 13-15 so any of those will likely be the same quality depending on how sober the assembly line was that day.

I understand that and probably misunderstood your point....i was automatically just thinking of Toyota reliability compared to the history of the rest of the market.

Came here looking to see all the accolades for my 'new to me' ride....
After driving my 07 for over a decade, I gotta say my '15 is a bit tighter and I can't feel the springs coming through my driver's seat. I've kept my audio stock in both and that contest goes to the 07. Nice having the hands free phone crap but it seems buggy to me. Could be that I didn't read up on it and I'm trying to figure it out on the fly. Also, I keep looking up to see the temp and where I am going....Feel a bit out of sorts having nothing up there except an extra sunglass holder that'll never get used. Anyone know of mods for this spot, maybe get my temp and compass back??

Not 100% sure what you meant by that, but my truck (and it is "new to me") seems to be very stiff. I go on a bumpy dirt road and it is really bumpy. I figured it was because it was a truck, but wonder if something is wrong now. Never had a truck, so wasn't sure.

I lost some options when I moved from the 2011 trd OR to the 15.. I miss the compass/temp, locker, and electro boost braking system. Also the lack of air injection made for a cleaner engine bay.

You don't have a locker either? I do, so I figured all did.
