2014 Tacoma - Can't find blinker flasher relay

    So here's the story:

We have a 2014 toyota tacoma that after about a year of owning it the blinkers would stop working intermittently. They wouldn't work for a few days then work again for a week. It was like this for a few months then they finally went out for good. I checked all the fuses both under the hood and under the dash. All fuses looked good. This leaves me to believe that the flasher relay went out. Also because I think it's relevant we haul a big 12x8ft landscaping trailer around all the time. Some lights went out on our trailer too, so I'm thinking that might have helped burn the flasher.

From Research it seems that the flasher relay is behind the fuse box, but when I pulled it out I didn't see anything.

I'm kind of at a loss because I can't seem to find the flasher relay anywhere. Any help would be appreciated it. Thanks!

Just a guess, but is it incorporated with the hazards button?

Wilco Bed Rail Tire Carrier. Light Racing Upper Control Arms. Marshall Fabrications sliders with kick out. Mobtown Tailgate Reinforcement Skin. hyper15125 retrofits. And many many odds and ends.
My 2015 was between the fuse box and steering. Mounted to the side of fuse box. Let me see if I can find a pic.

Okay just looked what I was talking about is the Flasher not the relay. But can you get the clicking sound when you turn on your hazards? If so follow the sound that should be your flasher relay. If not check your owners manual.
    Be Safe..

Found it! Thanks for your help.

It was to the right of the fuse box like you said. I wondered if that was it but wasnt sure since other people said they found it elsewhere.

Went to Autozone and O'reilly and they didn't have the replacement part there. Just need to find the part online then I'll be good to go!

There are 2 different flashers for these trucks. One for with DTRL and a different one for without DTRL. If yours was mounted to the side of the fuse box with wires plugged into it, you have DTRL.

On the trucks without DTRL, the flasher plugs directly into the fuse box, at the location where the wire harness plugs in on your truck.

The 2 different flashers will not interchange.

Oooh okay that makes a lot of sense as to why I was finding conflicting information. I couldn't find much in terms of ordering parts except on ebay, and ending up ordering one for a 2013 tacoma but it seems like it should fit just fine.

    Thanks for everybody's help!

I purchased an LED flasher for my '14 Taco but cannot find the flasher assy. The diagram is nice but how do you get your hands on it? I've owned 40+ cars and most all have had the flasher units on the side firewall or similar, just reach in and unplug, but I cannot find this one! Seems like Toyota does not want anyone running LED's! (I looked into the separate bulb resistors but do not feel like cutting and splicing and screwing assembly's to the firewall just for an LED blinker bulb that is not that much brighter than stock. Help!

From my under if your truck has DTRLs you have to use a resistor they don’t make a flasher to plug in to prevent the hyper flashing.

    Since you "can't" find it.
Lay down on the driver's carpet looking up.
You'll see a large black box (Body ECU). On the side of the box should be a smaller box. That is the Flash/Hazards Relay. If there's none, then you have the older version, which holds the smaller cube flasher on top of the larger box.

I will take a look tomorrow, just seems like changing over to LED's is a bit of a pain. I'd think bulb manufacturers would incorporate the correct resistance into the bulb assembly itself. Thanks for the help.

That’s why I did all the bulbs except the blinkers. Plus those resistors get crazy hot. Burn you truck down hot.
