Below is what I've been able to cobble together to help identify what the different options available for customizing the 2014 Tacoma 4x4 DCLB and DCSB. I left out the exterior trim changes in the front/rear bumper department. Feel free to chime in if I missed anything or misstated anything.

Posted in new membership. Thought I'd ask here too.

Traded my wife's fully optioned 2012 Tacoma 4x4 TRD for a new 2014 4x4 TRD equipped the same way.

She noticed they dropped the visor controlled Homelink Garage Door Opener and Compass/ Temp from the mirror. Believe they are now only available on the Limited.

Does anyone know why this was done? Seems very short sighted to us. Will they offer it as a retrofit?

No one knows why but this seems to be one of the main complaints regarding the 2014. I have not read of anyone getting this addressed. I've made inquiries and the dealerships simply have stated they can't get the part as an add on for the 2014 yet. This is one of the reasons I figure I'd share my research so far. As stated above, it is only available in the Limited right now, dropped from all other packages.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I think Toyota dropped the ball on this one.

Does the '14 have the open storage areas over the wheelwells this time?.. I think I remember someone saying the '13's no longer offer that feature.

... '12's and older have them.

So the Limited is a done-up SR5 that has cockblocked tech from the TRD models? Way to be cheap Toyota.

I don't understand why the limited features couldn't just have been options/standard for all TRD models.

    It's available as an option.

Mine doesn't have it, but I could have gotten one that did.

Both TRD options, at least in my area, have the EnTune option w/ apps and nav.

As far as the Auto Dimming mirror toyota has promised to add it to my truck since it was initially a feature the TRD package included back when I got my truck. I'll let you know if that ever happens.

Are you sure you have Nav and not just traffic? All the TRD's here in New England have the Entune w/ traffic but no GPS/NAV. It only appears that the limited and the highest SR5 package come with it. I looked at a TRD sport and it definitely did not have Nav.

The list above is cumulative, I tried to notate what changed as you read from top to bottom. So you get Entune, but it doesn't have NAV. You can see on the window sticker which one it is:

[ED] - Entune Plus (Traffic but no NAV)
    [EE] - Entune Premium (NAV)

Yes I sure am. I use it every day. Haha.

In this area (Washington) there 2 TRD packages, however I have only seen the ones with Nav.

Below is the text from the Toyota website:

They left out an upgraded mirror and that constitutes dropping the ball? Yeesh high standards.

I don't understand how anyone who actually goes to the lot and fails to double-check that the truck they are buying has what they are looking for can have any negative comments against Toyota. I got my 2013, saw it didn't have homelink like the brochure and ASKED the dealer, they said it didn't come with it as the actual package had changed from the brochure. Someone will argue the consumer shouldn't need to inspect the vehicle on the lot to make sure it has what it was advertised to. Well BS, check your merchandise before dropping ~30k+ on a vehicle.

That's one of the reasons why I am trying to put this data together. That way folks can see what really comes in each package. I think for a lot of folks it's over whelming being at the dealership and trying to take everything in. You've got the stress/pressure of the sales folks plus it's sensory overload when you consider how many variances there can be from model to model. As always do your homework before forking over the cash.
