    Hey gents,
My navigational skills on this site are weak, so I'm sorry if this has been asked already.
It seems like my battery is on its way out. I want to replace it with a top quality one but I'm unsure of what to buy. I was told the yellow optima is awesome but napa says it won't fit :(
I live in Calgary, Alberta so it needs to be good in the cold. What do you guys use and is there any I should stay away from? Trd double cab long box 2013.

    Thanks guys

    Elliot

Advance Auto sells a house brand AGM for Tacomas... check it out if you have AA up there.

Unless you want a fancy battery, go to wallmart get a maxxlife everstart 24F and call it good. Slightly smaller than the stock 27F if you have a tow package, but more cranking amps over the 27F, its cheap, had a 5 year warranty and wallmarts are found all over the country incase it does go bad.

I would stay away from Everstart batteries. I am running one in my Mitsubishi and despite it having more CC amps than the stock battery, it still struggles a little when starting in cold temps.

An Autocraft from Advanced Auto is a great battery. Have one in the wife's Subaru. If you check online you can probably find a 20% off coupon.

I called there earlier and the guy said the AGM was good, but then told me "his computer" said that they don't make one that'll fit in my truck? Think "his computer" was lying?

Thanks for the advice guys, I don't mind paying more for a better quality battery.

Run of the mill shitbag company that treats its employees like trash.

Anyway, OP, pick something that you can source locally, has the best warranty and specs balance. I bought a Duracell 27f that has better specs than the OEM batt and a good warranty at my local Batteries Plus

I remember the NAPA house brand batteries being decent in winter.

If money is no object, then this: http://buy.northstarbattery.com/p/nsb-agm-27f-battery

I will need one soon too, and as much as I'd like a big name battery, will have a hard time not buying the local farm supply battery for $74

+1 on the Northstar. Bought a 27F last month and holy CCA! Best battery I've ever owned. Large upfront cost, but it'll pay dividends on those sub-zero mornings where you live OP.

That sucker looks unreal! I called battery world and they wanted $450 for a brand similar to Northstar, RIP OFF! Do you know if Northstar have a retailer or is it online only?

Found a place that sells northstar. $417 but he said he would take 10% off. Seem reasonable?

I think by the time it gets to my door it'll be the same price as this guy in calgary. I remember about 5 yrs ago I bought some rotors for my Mazda 3 from the states and I got hit with an extra $40 at my door because it was over 45lbs. I bet the same thing would happen again. Sold on the northstar buddy. The guy I called said they were amazing as well. Thanks a bunch!

Before you buy, you might make sure the 27F will fit your truck. The 24F came stock. The 27F came with the stock tow package.

Good call, I don't even know if I have the tow package lol ( noob alert). I bought it used and didn't really pay attention to that. Is there a way to find that out? I guess I could call my local toyota shop tomorrow.

If you have a factory hitch then you have the tow package. Either may fit, but its best to be sure. Hopefully someone that knows will chime in on whether the 27F will fit in a truck without the tow package.

I have the tow package then... in which case, I'll need the 27F. Thanks man!! Take care!
