Purchased 2013 Toyota Tacoma in 2017 and currently has P245/75R16 tires on it. The inside drivers door tire guide indicates tire pressures for P265/70R16 not P245. My assumption was that someone had replaced the tires with the stock base Tacoma tire size tires, but when i looked up the VIN for the truck it did come with the P245/75R16 tires from the factory.

When i lookup the tires size on Toyota for 2013 Tacoma with the TRD Offroad package, the tire size indicated is P265/70R16. I ordered a set of tires based on this assumption but now seem to be incorrect.

From what i have read Toyota did sell some 2013 Tacoma's with the P265 tire size, but not sure if the tire rim size was different and/or modifications to the speedometer reading may also have been made to those vehicles.

    Anyone encountered this issue?

    Thanks,
    Robert

You will be fine with that tire size

This is correct and the size my 2013 TRDOR came with new. I swapped to LT265/75R16 when the original tires wore out.

245 is not stock tire size for a V6

Anyways it doesn’t matter. Tire pressure within reason is personal preference. There is no one correct answer.

    I run mine at 35psi.

you will get better MPGs with the p245 sized tires, they are not as wide(tread) therefore less rubber the engine has to push=better performance

Update: Checked the spare which is most likely original, a BF Goodrich P265/70R16, more off road then highway tire, that came with the TRD package, it does not look very highway friendly. That would explain the door sticker which shows tire pressures as P265/70R16. Owners manual shows one of the tire options that could be on the car as a P265/70R16 as well as the P245/75R16.
    Thanks for the replies.
