Hey I’m a new member and I just bought a 2013 Tacoma DC 4x4. I have been doing all kinds of research on this forums but I cannot make up my mind. All my vehicles I’ve ever had I either leveled with hockey pucks or lifted, but I never drove them more than 40 miles a day. I want to level out my truck, but what is the best route to take. I drive it 134 miles a day, 4 days a week to work. What is the best options for a good riding leveling kit that also is not to harsh on your cv axles since I drive so much on the highway? Thank you in advance for any advice.

I'm jealous of your truck. I have the same thing but 78k, no hood scoop, and 2012. Nice find!

Nope. Just stock. Dumb question, but what does leveling do? Do you tow with it?

@inwood customs That’s what I have been leaning towards either set to .85 or 1.75, I would like to do 1.75 because I actually like the front being a tad higher than the back, but I’m worried about how much of an angle and stress it’ll put on my cv axles driving so far everyday and how worse of a ride it would be with stock coils

@jburner for my purposes it really isn’t doing much, I’m not adding bigger tires or anything I just like my vehicles to sit leveled and have that stance. I know it sounds dumb, but ever since I was in high school I have always leveled them at least, but I’ve never had a Toyota before.

Pretty sure up to 3" is fine on cv angles, but u will need new upper control arms at 3" for a food alignment i believe.
Dont do a diff drop, its been beaten to death here on the forum... The diff drop doesnt do second gens any good.

I wouldnt go above 1.75 on the 5100s due to the amount of preload. Im at 2" with eibachs and enjoy the ride.

U realize the lower the back is now, the worse its gunna be with any load in the back, effecting vision at night and oncoming traffics eyes possibly?

Do you have the 5100’s set at 0 and the eibachs? How much of an angle are your cv’s at and have you had any problems out of it? I don’t plan on towing much with it, I got another truck for that and I was just gonna adjust the lights.

Curious what you paid for that truck...
also here’s the question you have to ask yourself now that you’ve found this website. Will you be content with just leveling? And then here are the other questions. Once you’ve decided wow this truck is great, do you want rezis? Do you want a shell? A roof rack? All the things that go on a shell and roof rack? Do you want to bomb down a road at 60 mph? Long travel... slippery slope as you can tell.

But I digress. If you want to make the truck so it’s rides great on and off road. Is leveled and can carry a decent load and not have a crazy butt sag. Go with OME(or something of that caliber) suspension on all four corners and either get a three leaf AAL or a new leaf pack.

That is the simplest way to make your truck 10x better. Now all the other questions I posted previously... that an entirely different ball game.

Btw you may need UCA’s if you go with the OME.

    Yes, zero and eibachs
Prerunner, no angles for me to worry about
Also no mud, snow or sand.

Paid 22k for truck, I don’t plan on doing anything else to the truck really except put a toolbox on it. It’s pretty much strictly a work truck that runs the hwy and interstate 134 miles a day and if I don’t feel like driving my gas guzzling other truck hunting or pulling my little Jon boat to the river then I’ll use the Tacoma. I have a 77 k20 that I am currently rebuilding so not looking to do to much to the yota. What size OME would you go with the 883 or 884 with a 5100 set at 0. And what kinda angle does that put your cv’s in?

I had 885’s and the angles were more than fine. So if your only leveling then 884’s.

That’s a great deal for a truck with that little miles. I have a 2013 as well and they are so money.

You’ll be fine with a leveling kit if you do no off roading. 10k miles in on my leveling kit and no issues.

@Mista_G thanks! Did you do the 1/4 spacer in the driver side for the lean?

I did. I had 885s in the front icon AAL In the back and OME struts in the rear. Did a diff drop just because. Never had a single issue
