2013 4.0 valve cover replacement HELP

Today I started changing out my spark plugs for my 60k maintenance and discovered that the front spark plug on the passenger side was covered in oil or at least it was by the time I pulled it out. After doing some research I came to the conclusion that my seals are leaking around the spark plug so I decided to dive right in and change out my valve cover gasket. I’m fairly handy and can do most things with a little guidance. However, there isn’t crap on changing these gaskets out that I can find for the 4.0.. at least a step by step. My question.. what is this particular part that’s attached to the side of the passenger side valve cover gasket? I don’t have a clue.

 

There’s also a YouTube video of a tundra with the same motor (1grfe). It’s a head gasket video but the first part gives you a step by step to the valve covers.

This is the YouTube video I believe you’re referring to.. It’s titled a tundra but in the video they said it’s a Tacoma.
