Ever since I purchased my 2022 klx300 I have been thinking of selling my FZ1 . It’s only has 4250 miles and is perfect with lots of good mods. I only paid 4500 for it from the original owner in 2019 with 2800 miles. Anyway I put it on CL for 7000 just to see. Got the usual low ball offers with out even looking at it. Some guy got a hold of me and works in Alaska but lives near me and was interested. He sent me a $200 deposit to hold it for two weeks until he came home. Well he is back and is going to be here on Sunday to ride it home. Will pay the asking price of 7000. I detailed it today and now am having second thoughts. Man this bike is super clean, runs awesome and is set up right.
Will go down as another one that got away.
I really love my Klx 300 and it’s a blast on road and off. For me it’s my perfect bike now so need to let the FZ1 go.

Well the bike sold. The guy came and picked it up like he said. Was very happy with the condition and how it road. It was and is in excellent condition.
Anyway I started looking for a replacement and decided on a small displacement sport bike. Was looking at either a ninja 400 or yzf R3. Found a real clean 2020 r3 from original owner (58yr) that only put 1300 miles on it. Super clean. Came with rear stand w/spools and a rear bag. Paid $5000 cash. Bike is super fun. Slow? Yes but still super fun to ride. I ordered a bunch of parts for the bike to make it handle better and a little more power.
For suspension I did the ohlines rear shock w/ remote res. Andreani fork cartridge (fully adjustable) . New pirelli corsa 3 tires, levers , bar end mirrors, wind screen, fender eliminator, integrated tail light, flush front signals, rear seat cowl,Bmc air filter, toce exhaust w/ flash tune, rear sprocket -2 , R6 throttle tube.
Will be getting the fork cartridge installed Saturday. I have done fork cartridges on standard forks (2002 FZ1) but these need a special tool and the removal of the lower fork leg so I will leave it to the professionals.
Waiting on exhaust to be built, will send in computer for flash tune when the exhaust is in coating.
This bike will be a blast on the track and rip the street when I am done with it.
    Here are a couple pics.

It’s all tore apart now. Having Andreani cartridge installed today, installed ais plate and removed emissions. Installed BMC filter. Swapping the front grey fender and tail piece with matte black. Took off stock exhaust, new exhaust on its way. Took off rear sets and will powder coat them black. Installed ohlines rear shock. Coming along and should be pretty bad ass when I am done.

    It’s baaack!!!!
Sold the R3 then got the opportunity to buy back the FZ1. Alan only put 140 miles on it and it is as it was when I sold it to him. So the one that got away will be with me for a long long time.
