I have a 2012 Tacoma TRD Sport 4X4 that has a front wheel bearing going out.
I am going to buy an assembly rather than trying to press a new bearing in.
Just looking for some feedback/validation on what I am planning on purchasing to make sure I have all I will need.
I plan to purchase from RockAuto the following:
Moog 515201 Wheel Hub Assembly or SKF BR930978 Wheel Hub Assembly
    SKF 28739 Inner Seal
My first question is, does anyone have thoughts on the Moog or SKF Wheel Hub Assemblies? Or possibly another brand?
Secondly, to complete this project am I leaving anything out?
If I have read correctly the outer seal and o-ring will be pre-installed on the wheel hub assembly, correct?

Outer seal is pre-installed. The O-ring is not. You may need to purchase this separately. It goes on the assembly when you bolt it to the knuckle. The inside seal, you may not need. It presses into the knuckle and has no inner pressure on it. I have the original one on my passenger side. I’ve replaced that bearing twice and the oem seal is holding up fine. Will be replacing the wheel bearing as preventive maintenance at 250K and will keep the seal if it is not leaking. I applied silicone on it to help reduce friction and keep it pliable. I have DuraGo bearings and hub. They also sell an assembled unit but I press them myself.

In my situation, the factory O-ring did not provide a good seal from the very first time. So I apply a small bead of form-a-gasket outside the O-ring to help keep out water.

I don't think Moog manufactures bearings, so I would be weary if they don't reveal their bearing vendor.

Thinking back to the O-ring, the brake shield bolts in between the bearing assembly and knuckle, and the O-ring only makes contact on one side. That may be how water can get into the axle cavity. That’s where I applied the gasket maker - directly on the knuckle to seal contact with the shield.

Most all the hub assemblies come with the O-ring.
Some come with the CV dust seal too.

Sometimes the o-ring is loose in the box.
Other times it’s on the hub.

It can get on from the back side of the knuckle if the seals are bad.
Usually during water crossings is where it happens.

I've used moog twice and they both went out after only about 5k of serious offroad. Then I switched to oem wheel bearing which was stupid expensive. But I'm on 15k no issues yet

Agreed, but I am referring to the spot that has no seal nor protection from the O-ring. The area between the brake shield and the knuckle. That’s where water seeped through on both my knuckles.

I used the blueprint bearing set, plus OEM axel seals. super easy to do. Since i was there I change the front brake rotors and pads.

I usually just use red bearing grease there. But that’s mostly just in case I ever have to take it back apart. Not seen any water intrusion yet. But I don’t wheel my truck.

Thanks for the feedback on the Moog brand.
I did some digging around on the Moog and saw another person on Youtube that had a pretty early failure rate on the Moog they installed.
I believe I am going to actually go with the AC Delco hub assembly. Kind of odd I thought that they make, or sub-out and put their name on a part for a Toyota.
It's a little pricier but I like the AC Delco name and their bearings are sealed. So another layer of protection.

    Well that was quick.
I ordered the AC Delco from RockAuto.
Email order confirmation was received at 7:35PM.
And an email saying my order had shipped was received at 8:35PM.
If this assembly fits my wants and needs, I will order the other side and should be good to go.

I am going to get into this install this weekend.
I am trying to get the socket size for the axle nut. I have seen 35mm and 36mm.
Can anyone confirm which it will be for my 2012 Tacoma?

Thanks for posting about this, I have been looking at doing the same thing. If your ACDELCO parts dont work out for any reason, rooting around here in old posts I found that people seem to like

Or you can buy from this thread, surprised no one has mentioned it yet https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-bearings-hubs-press-service-4x4-6-lug-2wd.537080/

So has anyone actually used the SFK wheel bearing and hubs? Do they have actual SFK bearings in them? I’ve seen people post about them but haven’t seen any follow up on those. I see a lot of people really recommend a guy on for there hub needs. But kinda weary to send a couple hundred over a cash app for them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

SKF doesn't make the hub, they make bearings.. Someone else makes the hub. Then that "someone else" assembles the hub with SKF bearings.
The honesty is in the builder of the hub assembly. Buy from a reputable company, and it should have SKF bearings. Buy form a no name cut rate eBay store or Amazon, and you might end up with Chinese knock-off SKF bearings. Or just plain "no name" bearings.
