I have a 2012 regular cab 2.7 auto 4x4. I am pretty sure it has the 4.10 gears. Currently running 245/75/17. Thinking of regearing to 4.56 or 4.88. What is everyone’s opinion on which gears would be best. It is my daily driver. What rpms is everyone running at highway speeds. Currently running around 2400 at 75 mph.

I can confirm it has 4:10. I have the same truck. I want to move from 31's to 33's but I'm not sure what ratio to run either.

I have a 2009 2.7 Manual, it has 4.10's. I currently have 33's on mine and want a re-gear to bring back my low end grunt.
I've decided on 4.88's Let me show you my research. ( also TTYetti has 4.88's in his 2.7 )

30mph 3rd gear is about 2000 rpm, 4th is about 1500. I usually stay in 3rd just because of how heavy my truck is but I’m usually in 4th at 35. 30 is just one of those weird speeds that’s kinda between gears with my weight

60mph is 5th gear all day at 2500~

70mph on the speedo bounces between 74-75 on the gps and I’m at exactly 3000 rpm. I think that’s pretty reasonable since a stock truck with stock tires is at 2700 at 75mph. Truck feels great, motor doesn’t seem to mind one bit and fuel milage is pretty good. Stock gear with 33’s the truck struggled at those speeds and when I could use 5th it was 14-15 mpg. Same setup with 4.88’s I can run 5th most of the time and get 16-17mpg.

My numbers are pretty similar to @Wheelspinner. At 30mph I usually cruise in 3rd at about 2100-2200rpm.

    60MPH - ~2400rpm

    70MPH - ~2800rpm

    75MPH - ~3000rpm

forgot to mention that there is a decent axle ratio calculator online, I checked it out right after my lift/tire upgrade and it was pretty dang spot on for having 4.10's and 33's in terms of speed / RPM so you could use that to help you decided on 4.56 VS 4.88

Myself, since it is a 4cyl, I'm going with 4.88. I have a camper trailer that I would like the option to tow with the truck and think the little bit lower ratio will help me out on the highway / hills. ( plus slower crawling right?????? )

    I am running 31's on my reg-cab 5speed 4x4 2.7 and yes it is a 4:10 gear but if I went to a 33 I would go to 4:88 as well.
