Ok so I love love LOVE how the headlights on the later 2nd gen models look, as compared to earlier 2nd gen models. I currently own an ‘07 Tacoma.
At first I assumed this to be a pretty simple process. It appeared to me that the headlights were just given a blank space in a corner in the later models to give a more aggressive look. However, I have discovered through my preliminary search that the design of the hood, grill, front bumper, and the side ends of the bumper that wrap into the fenders were all changed in design. HOWEVER, I did notice that the fenders themselves as well as other key body panels remain of the same design throughout 2005-2011.
So if I were to acquire a 2012-2015 2nd gen hood, bumper, grille, and bumper side covers, in addition to the headlights and any other odds/ends I may be forgetting, would they be able to bolt right on or were the retainment locations also changed in correlation with the design update?
Has anyone attempted this before? Any information would be greatly appreciated!59AFEDA7-AD08-47EF-ABEE-04492F4C9945.jpg 2E67C04F-7DBC-46AB-8379-245C0E4433E3.jpg

^^ Good how-to link. And I think you should go for it. 12-15 front end looks so much better IMO. Just plan to do it in advance so you can accumulate the necessary parts overtime

lol it’s funny how is humans are all so different.
I have a 2015 and think the 2005-2011 look better. They look “bigger”

Yea the human condition is weird. The job you hate is someone else’s dream. That ugly car you make fun of is someone else’s fantasy. Well I’d be glad to trade you my big front end for your petite one.
