    Sounds like a plan. Actually it would allow me to wait for a year or two after they come out with the 3rd gen. That way all the bugs should be worked out of a new design.

    Still very dissapointing news! It would have been so easy for them to upgrade to the dual VVT-I, it's already designed.

    Bummer

    BeefTaco, may I ask where you got this information from? It definitely looks legitimate!

    Can you provide us with any pictures of the 2011 with the new grill?

    Also can you post these documents as .pdfs, I can't download them?

    Thanks for the info! (even though I'm dissapointed with the lack of mechanical changes)

    I did a quick photoshop. Probably not that accurate, but quick.

    I always wanted a color matched grill, maybe this 2011 grill will be the extra motivation I need to pull the trigger.

    The new grill is going to add a bit more work for doing the Satoshi mod.

    I think BeefTaco is a service advisor or something at a dealership.

    So same specs, a new black (which looks great on other models) and a sweet new grille that looks swappable with 05-10. I want to see the new black in person but if it's like the others it may have swayed me from SWB.

    I'm not sure if I like the new grill or not... might have to see it in person.

    Bleh, new grill colors are at least better than the anthracite that matches nothing on the truck (nice color just... why did they do that). BSP > "black" No other major changes.... glad I got one of the last two '10 BSP's in AZ.

    Seriously I'd hoped by now they'd color match every grill... why is chrome an option serious.

    Anyone have any good picture examples comparing black with black sand pearl? I still can't tell much of a difference...personally I love BSP.

    Metallic Black (BSP) vs. Normal Black is the difference.

    Can't wait to add that new Grille to my truck. Mesh-like color matched and non-satoshi (or whatever its called) is what I have been looking for... :)

    On that 2011 model reference sheet, five Tacoma models (those with a red +) are listed as new.

    All of the new models show 2TR engines with 4AT ECT transmissions.

    Unless I'm confused, isn't this major major news for the 2011 lineup? I would think the new variations with the 2TR-FE engine means better fuel economy.

    Look at the chart and the red + marks. I decoded the new models as follows:

    TX4GN = Extra Cab 4x2, 2TR-FE engine, GRN265/TRN260/TRN265 series, Automatic Transmission
    JX4CN = Double Cab 4x2, 2TR-FE engine, TRN220/TRN225/GRN225 series, Automatic Transmission
    JX4GN = Double Cab 4x2, 2TR-FE engine, GRN265/TRN260/TRN265 series, Automatic Transmission
    PX4EN = Reg Cab 4x4, 2TR-FE engine, TRN240/TRN245/GRN245 series, Automatic Transmission
    UX4EN = Extra Cab 4x4, 2TR-FE engine, TRN240/TRN245/GRN245 series, Automatic Transmission

    As far as I can tell, these variations were not previously available.
