    Hi,

Thank you for joining me on this new adventure of becoming a Taco owner. I currently drive a 2008 Subie Hatchback and have decided I would like more space and the option to overland. As of right now I am looking at two trucks and would like to know which is better with the over all options, including the after market add-ons. I've done my research with pricing on KBB, NADA, and Edmunds and researched car complaints for problems. Though TW is where the experts hide. Thank you for your time and replies!

Links for the two trucks below!

I’ve heard the 2012 had some issues, not exactly sure what kind. But it’s what I heard. The 2007 is past that 05-06 head gasket issue.

As far as I know the only real issue with the 2012 is the smog pump failing, but can be avoided with uni filter mod

Plus, I think the front end of the 12-15 looks dramatically better than the 05-11. But that’s just me

I have that exact same truck. 2012 TRD Sport DCLB. Love it and haven't had any problems whatsoever.

The JBL system in the sport is probably the best STOCK system I have ever heard as well.

I have the 2013 limited and love it. Although I hate the interior room. But that’s all tacos

2007 had the leaky timing cover. Check the frame for rust on either one. Under the skin these are essentially the same truck.

But the 2012 is better looking because of hood skewp and better looking front end

I have a 2007 and a 2012. I'm replacing the 2007 with the 2012. But the 2007 is nice too... and it just happens to be for sale.

Thanks guys for all the replies! I can tell not to many issues as all Toyotas do not usually have many problems. But great to hear your opinions and your experiences.
