    Hey All,

New member here. Had my 2007 Tacoma Off Road for 4 years now and thinking about selling it, but hard to figure out what its worth and wanting input. Details below:

2007 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab Off Road Short Bed
    133k miles
Spacer lift up front, add a leaf in rear
    Wheels / Tires (brand new)
    Upgraded radio with car play
    Camper Shell

The only kicker is the frame has one spot of rust going through in the front by the cats. I think it can be fixed but not sure, that's why I am here. Car is located in East TN with me being the 3rd owner and no accidents.

That’s one of the most common spots for the frame to rust through - near the cats. Hard to tell from your photos if it’s a few layers of the metal that has rusted and flaked off or if it’s much worse.

mad for pricing: for someone that doesn’t know the frame rust issues, they would see the rest of the truck looks to be in good condition and may pay $15k.
Someone who can treat and fix the frame themselves before failure may pay up to $10k. Anyone else that would pay a shop to fix it is in for less if they factor in paying someone to clean up and weld in some SAFE-T-CAP reinforcements.

My dad sold his 2005 Access cab TRD OffRoad 4x4 in Ohio about a month ago.

The people that were looking at the truck that were not necessarily into Toyotas were scared off by the 170k miles. The truck is in better condition than yours.
Ended up being an out of state sale to someone on here.

Price was somewhere around $12k - full service records, up to date, two sets of wheels/tires, etc. The biggest thing was that his frame wasn’t rusted like yours.

Thanks for the input. I would disclose rust issue to buyer. I also am trying to find someone in my area to fix the issue. It's unfortunate because I have maintained the truck very well and runs great. I also don't know how fast the rust will get worse.

The rust is mostly a few layers deep, with one smaller hole completely through.

Ask at a big truck fixum up joint. Fix it, throw a new battery in it and see you in three years. Edit: toss some ujoints in it, too.

I am waiting on a local shop that might do it to see what it would cost. That's the issue I have with it is I know it'll be somewhere else in a few years. Dang Toyota frames!

List it at what Tacomas go for in your region. Let the buyer decide.

I have thought about that. But the market around here is all over the place. Some have cars similar for 20k some have them for 10k lol.

If you got $10k, I guess I’d let it go. My 92 year old mother told me to sell and buy a new skateboard.

You close to Knoxville? I just got my frame repaired by a local guy about a month back. Would recommend, but it isn't all that cheap

I'm about 1.5 hours from Knoxville. Do you mind shooting me a DM with the info on the guy and what it cost and all that?

I would agree. I think it would sell for more in my area. I guess I will see!

Is it just me or is that rust from A/C dripping that would not have happened with the $5 fuel hose extension mod

    I agree.
IMO If the owner doesn't give a shit about the headlights and fog lights they probably didn't care about the important maintenance.

Last year I traded in my 2007 TRD O/R with 93k miles. It had a moderately rusted frame (worse in general than yours but no perforations), a bad rear dif, a chronic A/C leak despite replacing all the major components, and peeling paint on the hood. I got $10k from the dealer in trade for a mint 2017 Subaru Outback. I took the money and ran!
