Hello TW, this is my first post so I’m pretty new to this. I bought a 2007 tacoma with 240,000 miles on it a few months ago. I am looking to get a lift kit for it very soon. I do not do much off-roading, if at all, except for hitting potholes on the road I have been looking at the RC 3-inch lift for $300. I would like to stay under $600. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm also running 5100's, but from toytec and am pleased as well. I did have to replace my rear shocks in under a year because I didn't receive the correct ones, but its ok because i'm now running b110 series 5100s.
i do recommend doing upper control arms while you're at it. My factory ones rubbed the coil and I had to do them regardless.

also be aware of possible drive train vibrations arising after your lift, even with the carrier bearing drop. I solved my problem buy getting a driveshaft built from scratch.

I got the headstrong 2.5 Springs, no ucas, 3 Leaf add a leaf rear, it comes with a quarter inch spacer for the lean on the driver's side and went ahead and have them assembled so I could keep all my other stuff. It all comes out to right at $800 but in my opinion it was worth it here are my before and after pictures. In mind you I had bilstein's before from when I bought the truck but they were slap wore out and probably stock Springs but they were adjusted all the way up.

The Eibach pro truck lift is a great set up. My buddy has it on his truck and it rides like a dream. Gave him 3” of lift. He still needs an AAL to finish. I’ve got 5100’s with Eibach coils and a 3 leaf pack and JBA UCA’s. Love the set up and ride and it wasn’t too expensive.

Schecter how much would something like that come out too? Not looking to go too expensive cause I’ll just be doing some minor off-roading

My buddy got the Eibach kit from wheelers off-road for $695 total with shipping. I pieced my kit tighter over time and got it for $630 not including the UCA’s. Those were another $450.

I got the Toytec Ultimate lift with the fully adjustable front coil overs on Bilstien 5100s and originally the ADL for my supposedly then fixed TSB spring pack and the SPC control arms. The rear spring pack collapsed (again) so now I have a custom spring pack from a local company. The good thing about adjustable height coil overs is that you can account for the Taco lean plus the local company removed the rear .5 inch block and made the springs to account for the lean. My Tacoma now sits dead even side to side, 2.75 inches over stock in front and 3.0 inches rea, yes, I wanted positive rake. Tired of the OEM springs eternal droopy butt look.

The Bilstien were on the truck, TRD O/R, so I stayed with them, overall the 5100 have a decent reputation. For a more aggressive, enthusiast off roader they might looks to Kings or similar with the reservoirs but for most the 5100s are fine. I installed the CB drop, yep, I also dropped the front TC andToyota did my drive shaft under the TSB. I have no vibrations it did not have before the lift, now about 1.5 years.

Without a double carden DS I am of the school of thought that the transmission output should be equal to the axle input. With a DC drive shaft the axle input should point to the transmission output. My Jeep Rubicon has the latter arrangement and my Taco the former at least until I need another shaft, if ever. Then I plan a double carden, probably one piece, large diameter aluminum shaft and rotate the pumpkin with degree wedges.

Right after I installed the Toytec Ultimate lift:

    Here is what kills springs:

I will be adding the Ride Right bags and Daystar cradles soon and remove my extended rear bump stops.

Welcome! I got the Toytec/Bilstein 3" Lift Kit. Love it. Perfect for my needs. Rides smooth. It is still stiff but gives better ride than stock. I like the stiffness. I did look at the rough country lift but decided with 190000 miles on my truck that I should replace the struts and shocks, which I would recommend the same to you. Eibach pro truck lift is probably best for your needs. Heard good things about it.

Love the truck! Will definitely look at the toytec/Bilstein lifts cause I’ve heard nothing but good about them. What size tire are you running on yours?

I'm running Hankook Dynapro ATm 285/75r16. Had to do a little trimming on the front bumper, but no rub on the cab mount.

Damn! I also have the 2007 indigo ink. My rear bumper is sh*t from the other owner and I have been deciding on a new one. Would you recommend a chrome or black bumper? Thanks

Thats funny. My bumper is also destroyed from the previous owner. It has a decent size dent in it from what looks like a trailer. I have been in the market for a new bumper too. The inside of mine is rusty and when they put the new frame on I think they broke a bracket or something because in low speed it has an annoying rattling noise coming from it. My hitch is also getting kind of rusty. I have been looking for someone to sell one in good condition near me. I have thought about getting a black one and either truck bed coating it or color matching it myself. I am also looking at an off road bumper that comes with a hitch. The black option is cheaper I believe than the chrome. For you, I would probably recommend a black one then either truck bed coat it or color match it. I guess it depends on just what you like too. I am more of a fan of the blacked out look.

I pieced mine together with 5100s, OME 884 coils, and Icon 3-leaf (although I'm only using the longer 2 leaves) on TSB leaves with the overload left in. I think it was closer to $800 with new front mounts and 1/4" lean spacer... but it rides pretty nice, and unless the OE leaves flatten out, should be trouble-free for a good while. I wouldn't have minded doing full leaf packs, but I didn't want to add an extra few hundred bucks right now, I won't cry if the AALs buy me 3-4 years.
