    Good evening!
So I was doing my brother a favor and wanted to make sure his 93 2wd would be running when he got back home after being gone a for a few months. Anyway, I'm jump starting his 93 with my 2006 Tacoma. I didn't think I would have any trouble starting his 22re even if the battery was super dead, so I was confused when it wouldn't start right away. So I removed the cables from his battery and tapped them very quickly together (I'm an idiot hats never had a pickup past the 90s and didn't need to worry too hard about computer stuff). I got a loss of power when I tried to drive and it killed itself. Sat for a half hour and it wouldn't start in that time. It finally did start and I took it to autozone to get the codes read. It's running lean and says the timing is retarded and that I need a new MAF relay. Any advice would be appreciated, but my immediate questions are: does an 06 have a fail safe that prevents power surges from killing the computer? If not, would a half second touch of the alligator clips fry it or just confuse it? I have the ground pulled off so the computer can maybe reset. If I do that, will it fix itself

It would be nice to know the exact code #’s.
There could potentially be many things wrong.
It sounds like you were in “fail-safe” mode with the loss of power.

I'll post the codes soon! I reset the computer by disconnecting the ground for 15 minutes. Getting towed rn.

Don't worry about the emissions shit. That's from a weird leak on my sending unit on the tank I think.

Can you get the truck to run at all?

You could throw a MAF at it, but it could be the ECM or Even the power supply to the MAF.
Are you handy with. Volt/Ohm Meter?

If so, you could try the steps below to make sure it isn’t a problem before the MAF.

Honestly, I am a bit concerned with the P0012
P0171 /74 should not set IF P0012 is present.

The OCV is a bear to get to IIRC.
    But it’s worth checking.

    BTW, if you google
“1GR-FE P0171” or what ever code, you can find the same stuff I linked to.
    It’s exactly what I did.
